What's the big deal with the clock? Wasn't exactly an ornate piece of craftsmanship and only showed the correct time for 2 minutes out of every day for the last 30 years!

| If the owners don't want to make a bit of money then I can not see why LRLFC would not want to.I suppose the same could be said for Leigh Genitals.I am sure all other clubs who have moved grounds have had a sale of memorabilia to raise a wee bit of cash.

Have they ? I'm sure I'm not the only one waiting to be enlightened
Dont forget the actual ground and all it's actual bolted down parts did not belong to Leigh Centurions or Leigh Genesis/RMI
I'm sure you would have posted with glee if Mr Rowley had been accused of theft

| As I see it who ever owned the ground & its furnishings obviously didn't want to auction them off,I am merely suggesting that either club could/should have asked if they might of held a sale of memorabilia from the old girl.Lots of people have lots of memories & may have been interested in obtaining a keepsake.Things like, door signs, changing room coat hangers, the seats from the stands, patches of turf (especially if loved ones ashes had been spread there),crash barriers (it has been known mainly when football went all seater),the opposition team name- boards from the scoreboard, the numbers from the scoreboard, the letters T,G & DG from the scoreboard or even turnstiles. Folk really will purchase anything, just look on e-bay.

| I seem to remember Bolton Wanderers sold off items from Burnden Park when they moved to the Reebok.

Part of the problem when the club left HP was the club didn't know when they could move into the LSV until the last minute , in fact at one stage it seemed that they might have had to move into temporary offices for a few weeks
There were lots of problems with who exactly they were dealing with because Grundy Hill had already sold the ground
There were also disputes over much of the kitchen fittings
As has already been posted we didn't own anything and the new owners were in no mood to accomodate us , maybe the club should have tried to organise something , maybe they asked , maybe they just didn't have the time or the manpower to do it
Either way the only thing from HP that is recognisable that has been saved is the clock
An unofficial request has been made and when the LSV have eventually got some of the many problems they still have sorted the request will be made again on an official basis

They did own Burnden Park and had more control over things
Either way it's all gone now so not much point bothering about it

| Yeah was stood there myself the other weekend.
The old place is still there really isn't it... I mean the stands have gone but all they've done is knocked down the bits that could have been vandalised.
We shouldn't keep harking back though should we or we'll never get used to the new place.

Did you ask them for a keepsake and was refused?
