If anyone is planning to get married in the near future, but is working to a very tight budget, I may be able to help with the photography. I am about to set up my own business as a wedding/portrait photographer and am looking for some weddings in the near future which I will be able to use in my portfolio. If you don’t mind taking a risk with a new wedding photographer (actually not that much of a risk, I’ve been a keen amateur photographer for 30 years, and you don’t mind a few of your wedding photographs being used on my website, then I will do a deal for cost. I done it once, still having the nightmares

We’ve got a great photo in our album, the best man all ted up in top hat and tails, he dropped the Wife’s ring and it rolled under the church, he was on his hand and knees retrieving it. I’d guess today Photoshop or something would ‘clean him up’, but in ours it looks like a mud wrestler presented the rings.

Thanks very much for the support. I realise it will be hard work, especially to start off with, but it's something I've wanted to do for a long time, and circumstances at work now mean I have been given no coice but to look at an alternative way of making a living.

That's 2 from the east getting married in cyprus that week..My nephew-in-law (Damon) gets married there on the 13th.

Joe and anyone else wanting 'work' I started up videoing weddings a couple of years ago but had to stop because of ill health, there aint many around at the moment and if you have a good knowledge of cameras the transition to video ones isn't rocket science that and a working knowledge of computers to edit on.
There is a fair amount of work out there and with upwards of £1500 per wedding (I didnt charge anything near that amount by the way) it can be quite lucrative and enjoyable, because with all due respect to photographers there are quite a lot of them.
A couple of grand out lay could reap dividends.
I'd be only too willing to give my (what little I have) knowledge out to anyone thinking of doing it.

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. Fred, I may well take you up onthe help with the vidoe. My wife has always taken a camcorder on holiday and is keen to do csome video backup. FRom my photography I obviulsy realise there is a big difference between holiday video and professional wedding vidoe, but still even if we didn't charge much for it, it would add to the overall package.
