i have made numerous threads regarding my dissapointment at our attendances at the sports village.

the replys have indicated these will improve once the league starts.

with the weather set fair for sunday what do people think we will have on?

i iknow batley wont bring many but it should give us indication of our core home support

Which is awful considering that the club was budgeting for crowds between 2500-3000.

I think the club were expecting our new ground to pull a few more fans in but it doesnt seem to have happened yet.

And it certainly won't happen until there is a bit more of a buzz about the town and on a matchday, in particular. Even before the Wigan game, the town centre was dead so I think it's quite easy for people to not notice when there is a game on.

Still think we lack promotion in these games.I live in Daisyhill and if i didnt show an active interest in this site would not know a dickybird.

It costs about £500 to put 25000 fliers into the leigh reporter and have it delivered through your door!

and before anyone complains about not getting it delivered at all and it going into Leyth canal it is still better to speculate and at least try and drive the business forward than sit there hoping people just wander in looking at the shiny new building that has just appeared!

Maybe once a week on a friday afternoon of the week we are playing at home, have a couple of the players do the rounds to the local schools giving out tickets to the pupils for the game.

Lowton/Westleigh/St Mary's/bedford not to mention all the primary schools were the parents would need to go too!

Maybe the same week like when i was a kid playing at East, my coach every sunday used to give me a free ticket the game that afternoon, we could hand tickets out to all the youth teams at East, miners Rangers, leigh RU, maybe push the boat out and do Golborne Parkside and Tyldsley RU!

The possibilities are endless, these are but a few and if the management dont promote there product strongly, aggressively and consistently it is inevitable that the club will fail. The business needs to be driven!

I also remember them days, and think it could be worth a shot.
My lad plays for East now and i know a good few of the teams parents filled in a form for the free season tickets as they where handed out at one of the training session, i also know that up to now only about 2 of them have bothered going to collect there tickets.
