It'll probably depend on what resolution of screen is needed for he sky software to display correctly. The pitchside screen is only 400px X 240px.

| Can't see it happening - even the screen at the Reebok isn't compatible with Sky's (they've put their own screen in front of the existing one in the past).

Well, not many (if any, in fact) RL clubs have a permanent one so you'd have to ask the LSV about that one.

| most of if not all SL clubs that have a big screen have to lease it from SKY, I was told that even the TV gantry that was at Halifax (on the old stand) had to be leased by them from SKY.

| Question for Fred/Andy...
Is there any chance we could get the slide shows of HP being built and then demolished onto the screens for pre match & HT?

Something along those lines would be great to boost the atmosphere just before the teams come out; not sure how viable it would be but summat like that (maybe videos of a even a couple of tries from years gone by?) would be perfect.

It can be used as the scoreboard, and the club/lsv can sell advertising space on it.

| My Dad kicked off big style when he saw the Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council logo all over the big screen outside the ground.
He is secretary for local kids amateur football club and they had a lot of input in supporting the LSV. He says the council's input was minimal in getting everything done regarding the sports village as a whole and if it had been left to them the project would never have happened.

The thing is though, as a senior LSV official once said to me, it's their building.

| You see that's the attitude we're up against mate.
It's still us and them it's supposed to be our home ground. We should start a fund to buy it off the council and get as many businesses involved as possible.
It wasn't all council money that paid for it and the council money that did is mostly ours I'd like to remind them

| What really annoys me about this - and I shall be bending the ear of Andy Burnham the next time I see him - is that the idea of the LSV was sold to the people of Leigh as a venue for them to use/watch sport. The people of Leigh thought they were getting a community sporting venue, somewhere for our children and our team(s) to play - this is what we bought into - not some over priced facility that is in genuine danger of becoming a ghost village!!
Something needs to be done about this before it's too late!

| I agree with all the comments about the problems caused by our not owning the ground. What exactly is LSV in the sense of who owns it? Presumably the council and others have shares. How much would it cost us to buy the ground and gain much needed control of our own destiny?

| Thanks -obviously we paid nowt and have no share in it!
But not clear to me who owns Greenbank partnership i.e who would profit from the sale of the ground? Mostly Wigan Council?

| These details are quoted from this months ' Borough Life' magazine.
"The cost of the public sector facilities is around £40 million - around half the total cost of the scheme - which includes the cost of building Leigh East clubhouse, Leigh Harriers athletic track and stadium, the swimming pool & sports hall and the stadium itself plus infrastructure costs.
The council has directly funded approximately £16 million of this - with the help of Sport England (0.7m) and the North West Development Agency (£5m).
It also released a significant element of land at both Grasmere St (former home of Leigh East) and at Leigh Sports Village for private sector development through Greenbank Partnerships. Leigh Harriers also contributed £4 million through the sale of their Holden Rd site."

| I think what actually tells the bigger story, is that Leigh Sports Village Co. is actually department 10 of Wigan Metropolitan Development Company Ltd.

| some department somewhere or other has to be responsible as the LSV company seem unable to run itself example GMPolice properties are dealt with by Salford Council and wages dealt with by Trafford (or they were when I was in it)
