Good appointment for us, I think! This is the man who led Wire to all that glory... oh, hang on...

Let's just hope he continues to play left and right channel pivots who never actually speak to one another... it might be the best possible way to neutralise the Widnes attack. It certainly worked at his previous employment.

Well who knows he may have more success than he did at Warrington. I will admit he talks a load of twaddle pretty much all the time but I'm sure if we give him a load of stick on here it'll come back to haunt us.

To be honest it seems to me that Warrington is a poisoned chalice, whoever has coached there over the years has come up short even though they never used to get relegated.

Smith & Cullen are good appointments in my humble opinion.

May be at his level. Did well with some Cumbrian outfit I remember but was out of his depth at Warrington. He likes to have yes men around him and is very unsure of himself with other strong minded coaches. He'll get the best out of average players but not sure he'll take the pressure at Widnes. They'll soon get sick of his bullsh*t. Lacks substance. Good hard player but never great and destined to be the same as a coach.

I'm quite pleased with this appointment. Whenever we have played Cullen coached teams they have always looked quite beatable. We should have beaten Wire in superleague and last season we made their superstars look very ordinary. Plus wasn't it the Cullen coached Whitehaven that Turley scored 5 tries in one game against?
