Well IMO he got it wrong........England in the WC got the c r a p penalised out of them for the very same things.

Only when the man in the middle polices it in your favour....... Too many grey areas in that aspect.

well its funnny how people say aussie rl is boring and defence minded, manly are a class rl side, and in reality could of scored alot more, the scoreline flattered leeds imo, everything they did, be it ptb, passing everything was done at speed with great skill, i know you can't compare, but its like watching a different sport to what i watched this afternoon at lsv, my advice is try and watch some aussie games this year if you can, its really good, we're still miles behind them.

well overall, if i was a coach........OF EITHER CODE OF RUGBY......

i try and look at the positives, and not be too narrow minded and patriotic, and manly were the biz!!

Stephen I think that would have been right some 4 years ago the NRL was boring but the last couple of years have seen better attacking options, us we are still stuck in the defence orientated way of things when our 'natural' game has always been skill but its now all down to 'game plans' defence structures' and all the other aussie training manuals.

true, ihave setanta and the quality and excitement that the aussies dish up is really good, me and my dad always look forward to the new nrl season. alot of skill has imo gone out of our game. were the skill on show tobnight from mnaly was brilliant.

We are still stuck in the play down the middle and on the 4th tackle pass out wide and the 5th boot down field where as the Aussie are happy to throw it around to the wingers on the 1st play the ball. English RL is to predictable......

Glad to see Manly beat Leeds cant stand Leeds. The best part though was the fight, Peacock was a lucky boy it wasnt a red card too.

Don't worry, the franchise system will sort that out.

Great to see all these imports and we still play predictable rugby league, maybe one day we'll learn off them.....

The likes of Matt King can teach us nothing, with the exception of how to steal a living.

Lets not forget that this team was absolutely head and shoulders above the rest of the NRL last year. The year before that, I have to say I watched some pretty boring stuff., not all but some.

Aussie ref, aussie rules IMO, we need to be singing from the same hymn sheet. The aussies play a game that incorporates a lot of wrestling style work on the floor, and to us who watch super league every week, this seems to be deliberate slowing of the game. I believe mr robinson had major problems with consistency, although it was great to see leeds get a taste of their own medicine.

Watmough was the only player of outstanding ability on that team, a second rower standing at 5' 11", 15st on the dot (what i'd like to call an angry build, lol) and with such explosive pace through the holes, fair enought the ball he took to score was a mile forward, but its still a great skill. Other than him, Manly looked to be a solid, mistake free unit.

Got to say I agree about Whatmough. I went to the game and was stunned by his turn of speed for a forward. All in all ( and I think most leeds fans would agree) the scoreline flattered them. Last time I was at Elland Rd was for Tri nations final few years ago when we got stuffed. I think i may give Elland rd a miss for a while as my last two visits there have been quite sobering!
