I am alone in having bother with the notice on the club board?
www.leighrl.co.uk/main/index.php ... m=&ucat=1&
I have a ticket for tomorrow for the match (West Stand) which tells me I must enter through turnstiles 1-4. I met my mate there and last week was on the 'wrong' side from him. It took a lot of persuading to get the stewards to let me across to find him! Fortunately I know that he is also turnstiles 1-4 tomorrow. But what will happen when we get swipecards and he enters through a different turnstile? I will never see him again! What a pantomime!

| An major design fault with the west stand. The tunnel effectively cuts the stand in half.
Of course some on here will insist that Leigh Centurions aught to get thier act together. They designed and built the stadium after all.

| Its the way Greenbank built the thing without any means of doing so,if peopl remember there was also no crossing in front of the Hilton Stand where the 'dug outs' where, this is common in many stadiums, as there is no reserved seats surely a simple communication between people 'Meet me in the northern/southern end of the stand' would suffice?
No reserved seats was the season ticket holders vote, and if they had voted for it unless you were a season ticket holder or bought your tickets together or asked the ticket office staff to place you nearby you would still be in the same 'boat' so unless you go in together there is always the same problem, thats one of the big down falls of modern/allseater stadia.

Operational rules state that the tunnel area must be a "sterile area" .

I'm saying nothing of the sort. I am explaining why it is not permitted for spectators to cross the tunnel area.
As th'owd mon says below, it's an RFL rule.

No encoachment pitch side in front of the dug outs and players and officials entrance to field of play isn't permitted or shouldnt be permitted in any stadium the match commisioner insists on it. It isnt an LSV or LC RFC thing its the RFL (and FA) 'thing'

| There is a way across above the tunnel -that was the way I went last week after much pleading. Both Parkys seem to think I am asking to cross in front of the tunnel. The latest club notice seems to say we cannot cross behind the tunnel. My original question about whether swipecards will specify which turnstyles to enter by remains unanswered.

The official line is that you cannot cross the tunnel area full stop.
In regards your question about swipe cards designating turnstiles. Physically possibly not, electronically quite possibly.

| Thanks for that but I am not sure I understand your last response. What is the difference between 'physically' and 'electronically'? And ....hadn't someone better find the answer to this before families are put on opposite sides of the 'Berlin Wall'?

| Against Oldham in the friendly I tried the West stand and without knowing sat in the Directors box.
It was empty at the time but it wasn,t labelled. A steward asked me was I a Director and of course I said no and of course I apologised and moved.
At HT I said to my mate I,d rather be in the North stand. I politely asked a steward and he said no prob so we moved.
Seems to me unless we have a sell out and with politeness on both sides, and, of course I mean stewards and fans, then why should there be a problem.
Hoping for a win of course tomorrow.

| Sorry Frank that isn't good enough! Depends too much on the 'goodwill' and 'discretion' of the stewards.
All I want is an assurance I can sit next to the mate I've been to matches with for over 50 years!

Physically on the card it may not display the turnstile numbers.
Electronically, when scanned, the barcode will likely only allow you in through the designated turnstiles.
We can't find out any more until the cards are in our hands.

| I find it only fair to agree with you.
I honestly do think however the LSV management have the responsibility. Should there be a problem I can,t see it being for any other reason than a ridiculous interpratation of Health ans Safety regulations.
Most folk to be fair are capable of being realistic. And the odd jobsworth ,well what can I say. The club don,t run the stadium but maybe they could open a dialogue with the LSV management. I expect they may have done already.

| i have just checked my ticket for tomorrow, and it says enter via 1 to 4, no body asked me were i wanted to sit, be it either north or south, why was i not asked? i would prefer ifi have to choose to be near the north stand as they are obviously leigh fans, i'm not sure is 1 to 4 north or south, but whatever before the cards are printed the club should ask us what we want, will they be doing this.

pretty sure 1 to 4 is south, you enter by the corner of the south stand

| There is a way you can get round it. Dip under the scaffold on the seats just above the tunnel. I saw several people do when the stewards wouldnt let them through. If the club where to allow access across the tunnell say upto 15 mins before kickoff then that would be a decent thing but I was amazed that I was allowed across the tunnel at the Wigan game.

This is one of a number of issues that the Club needs to talk to the LSV about. I belive that they are doing this, but it will take time!

| When we fill this ground every game ( and yes I think we will one day) I will definitely change my ST to the East stand. I dont know but seeing the two teams coming out of the tunnel seems get me excited and I weant to make more noise. Just seeing them appear from underneath me is a bit of a supprise and leaves the crowd flat.

| I think it is now agreed that there must be a way to prevent the swipe cards only allowing people access to one side of the tunnel without the club finding a way for people to have access to both sides.
The result, as I have said, will be friends and members of the same family having to sit separately for a whole season.
I am not in the business of blaming anyone and sympathise with the club in not having full control of the situation.
However I think a solution is needed urgently. The simplest one, it seems to me, is to allow access across the 'directors box' above the tunnel at any time (maybe even closing these seats).
By the way, where is this 'scaffolding area'?
Please can we have some urgent reassurance on this?

| the only problem with the east stand for me anyway, is if it is sunny, i would struggle to see the play proper, some may think this an advantage.

If you look today, there is temporary scaff tube been put around the said box because the safety hand rail was not high enough. That is where people were getting to the other side the other week.

| I would suggest you write to Allan Rowley this is an unofficial forum and whilst the club has acted on things put here in the past the only way to assure that is to write/speak directly to him.
And Stephen look at it the other way did you ask/tell them on which side of the stand you wanted to sit? its a question I would have been asking whilst there is no reserved seating and no changing of stand 'ends'.
The physical barrier near the tunnel was implemented after the Wigan game as the match commisioner complained that no other stadium allowed anyone to pass the players entrance pitchside, as for the whys ask him and the rfl.
the scaffolded area is the bit above the players tunnel with scaffold around it, its the condemned press box, which has to be rebuilt so et your complaints in and they MAY pt a walk way in but to the lsv management as well as Leigh Centurions.
