I have come away today with mixed emotions, the way we defended left me feeling proud of the lads.
After Stanton and Armistead both going off early in the game we were left with a squad of 15 and then Hobson being sent off(i didnt see what happened)we were left with one substitute and to defend the way we did was brilliant, we also had Stewart sin binned and this is when Fev got on Top. I thought we were unlucky not to score more in the first half.The lads out there played with pride and can hold there heads high.

Then there is the T!t in the middle with the whistle who has left me fuming, i really dont think i have ever seen a more one sided ref in my life of watching rugby. He was so quick to blow for there penalties for us lying on but he was letting them flop and lie on as long as they wanted, i dont recall Fev once having to work the ball away from there line without getting a penalty, i am sure someone from the club will be putting a report in on J. Child, i hope i never see this to$$er ref another match

I am as biased a fev fan you will ever get but i must admit i thought Leigh were the better side tonight and we were very lucky

I wasn't going to post anything tonight, but I have to say that that was one of the best Leigh performances Ive seen in a long time - play like that for the rest of the season and we could be talking about winning the league.

Immensely proud of the effort, defensive scrambling and general team spirit with no shortage of skill.

One negative - Hobson is a liability.

I didnt see it, but was told he missed.

well i was going to go straight to bed, but i just had to write down how dsamned proud i am today of my team, lads you were awesome tonight, not for a long time have i seen a leigh team defend with such pride, passion and committment. NK seems to have developed a wonderful team spirit, would love to the stats from the game, as they had tones of possesion, and we defended loike our lifes depended upon it, a for the ref, well one of my pet hates is people sklagging refs off, but god almighty that guy was a shocker, absolutely rubbish, i know who will be the happier of the coaches as far as the rest of the season looks, if we play with that never say die backs to thge wall spirit, we won't go far wrong, as for those who decided not to go, wll your boys did you produ and you missed a great leyther display, right off to bed, awesome lads.

Thought the lads were awesome tonight - don't remember the last time I saw a Leigh side work as hard as that, and I'm proud of every single one of 'em. You'd be hard pressed to find any leyther that went tonight that will say that performance wasn't worth every penny they paid to get there & get in. Personal highlights were Durbin & Higson, but difficult to single players out.

I don't like blaming refs for defeats - we all know there are some bad ones but normally I'd say if we were good enough we'd be able to win even without the ref. However, tonight it's difficult not to feel he cost us dear.

And personally I didn't see Hobson's offence, but prior to the sending off he'd been just as much a part of the good performance as anybody, and we sure as hell missed him after he'd gone (same with Stewart's sinbin). But to single anybody out is unfair after seeing us defend as a team as doggedly as we did

I'll happily watch us get beat every week if it's by a better side, but tonight IMHO Fev didn't deserve to win that game and we didn't deserve to lose it. No disrespect to Fev, Harris didn't even seem to have turned up but they made the numerical advantage count (eventually). I'm just gutted for our lads at losing that one after they grafted and defended so well.

I don't think I can ever remember any side getting such a good reception from their fans as the lads got at the end of the game tonight. Terrific defensive performance and Fev only won it when we had 11 men on the field.

Had Hobson, up to that point playing very well, not had a brain fart then I think we might have won by a comfortable 10 points or so.

Hugely proud of those 16 lads tonight.

Wasnt just Leigh fans staying to applaud them, all the Fev fans near me did the same, boy were they nervous when Hill and Higson nearly pinched it

Yes the chance we had near the end , the one when ' Cooky ' broke through but had no support



Not a criticism of the other players they had ran themselves to death in defence , but I was once again baffled by Niel's use of subs



A bit poinless having your biggest prop on the bench when playing down a slope when you are men down and are unlikely to go round the opposition

What was needed was a line breaker through the middle , I look forward to watching the DVD

As for the performance

Outstanding

It looks like we have a team here with great spirit, everyone of them lads played there hearts out for one another last night which is great to see. I thought Durbin looked good again and stood up in defence. Higson looked good in the centres and looked a threat. Also think wingy needs a mention, he was eager all night and ran the ball in hard everytime. I am really looking forward to watching this team grow.

Very proud of the lads last night thought waston had his best game so far this season his tackling was imense given his size as was most of the team.

Durbin, Higson and Donlan are going to be key for us this season all 3 quality

Ref - well i think it says it all when the oposing fans think he was very harsh on us. Young lad influenced by the home crowd and he had a shocker

Have to say though he got the Hobson desision spot on

Hobson - Got to get rid now what a liability you can garantee 3 pens a game from him at the very least and 1 in 3 games he will be sent off or sin binned. In my opinion he doesnt even bring that much to the table his defence is awful at best and is nowhere near fit enough for this league. He lets the fans and team mates down constantly and really gives anything back. Think its time for Mr Hobson to go like he should of done last season

Fev supporters - a few are ok like the ones who have posted on here but i have never been to a ground like it every takle is boooo'ed and ooohhhhh'ed it no wonder they get so many penalties. It the last time i will go there because its so frustrating we are all a bit biased but these guys are unbeliveable and spoiled my enjoyment anyway so thanks for that.



All in all if we can show that spirit week in week out we will be there or there abouts come play off time and those who have written us off might get a shock or two

It doesn't half work though - the TS Terrace used to give a good few forward pass decisions at HP so time for the West Stand to sit down and be counted at the LSV

Swinging arm - he went in for the challenge and a quick change of body position from the Fev man and Hobson was caught out. Ref got it right, along with Stewart's ten minutes.

Sunday was a masterclass in attacking rugby and last night was the same in defence, if we can put the two together consistently it could be a very interesting season!

One small gripe however - did anyone see the Leigh player who ran off down the tunnel straight after the final whistle. Obviously didn't think we deserved any thanks for travelling all the way over to Yorkshire on a wet Wednesday evening to support him!! At most clubs this wouldn't even be an issue but at Leigh we have a tradition of clapping each other off win, lose or draw. It's a shame said player doesn't seem to know this! As I said minor gripe and it's not a big deal just wouldn't want to see it happening on a regular basis.

Anyway as I said extremley proud of the lads last night you were excellent!!

You're right, it isn't nice to see, but without knowing the exact circumstances it might be unfair to judge him in this case as it's hardly a regular occurence.

Tell you what though, the team coach didn't half bomb it home, we only passed it when they were getting on to the M62 at Batley!

Journey was surprisingly easy there and back actually! Was an enjoyable evening all in all, glad I made the trip!

Theres a lot to wash there with John. Also I used to be absolutely dying for the loo when I had finished a game.
