I was in one of the boxes and looking down at the West stand it looked almost full and there was quite a few in the North stand as well. I honestly thought there was more than that.

If thats the case thats not too bad.

Thats a bit off Fred. Have you had a bad day on your own up there in the east end? You would have been interested how many were on when you were old bill.

Seems like your town has as many people as Widnes,people who 'would' go to the game but 'can't' because the team is in division one,too expensive,too cold,oppositon is crap,waiting for the league season to start proper,no red carpet at the turnstyle etc etc.

or a match against Widnes or Fax maybe should be worth more

I did try to point out that it was out of the clubs control but he was adamant that the board should refuse permission for this to happen or resign

A few of us had the same conversation - I know that, if I wasn't a season ticket holder, I'd certainly think twice about paying £14 to watch a game like today's. Topic was raised about possibly categorising different games (commonplace in football) but a cynic would suggest that would merely mean raising the price for the Category A games rather than the original suggestion of lowering it for the less attractive fixtures.

Good riddance if the fool is so petty....... Its not as though they are going to re-arrange 1 of our fixtures to accommodate the crust munchers.Some folk just need the most feeble of excuses to keep away.

I have to say that is the one thing I just dont understand

If you dont want to go to watch your team fine , dont

But do not make up excuses that put the blame on the club

Just say " I am bored with the sport , lost interest , have found better things to do , having a break , cannot afford it or whatever else

But if you convince yourself that it is the clubs fault you will become bitter and forever negative and will influence others not to come or to stop coming and most likely will never feel comfortable returning yourself

And that is wrong

No one can say they a bored with what Neil Kelly is doing at Leigh at the moment. When was the last time we had a team full of young Leythers playing without fear. The sad thing is, is the town just isnt interested!

I think there [iis[/i the interest, we just need a few positive results against the big guns to finally convince the doubters that we have indeed turned the corner after a couple of years of dross.

Unfortunately some of our so-called fans have an inability to see the wood from the trees.............Selective Myopia, let them go watch SL in the pub.
