| Which just goes to show that sacking a coach part way through a season is never a good thing (Kelly to Rowley) as in the modern game with salary caps, players contract etc.. the team the new guy inherits is never his own.
Anyway all water under the bridge a new regime is now in charge so either support them or dont but dont dredge up the past just to try and score a few dirty little points on people who mostly were not in charge then, it is childish and non productive in the extreme.

If they still refuse to listen you appreciate their point of view and ask them what resolution they would like to see. Negotiate a resolution that both parties are happy with and move on. Arrange a meeting after the dust has settled usually in an environment that the customer is comfortable with, ie the golf club, their favourite restaurant , the boardroom at the LSV, whatever floats their boat and re-build the customer/supplier relationships. This tends to make the relationship between customer and supplier stronger. In my experience true long term friendships tend to develop which benefit your business. I have seen this happen first hand, this complete customer focus i have see first hand. i know this has contributed to a business growing from a turnover of £9.5million in 1997 to £32million in 2012.

No problem with any of that. Ideally, I would see the 'personal touch' being essential, if you have the manpower to achieve that. I'm pretty sure that's Rob Parker's approach to wooing new/old customers to sponsorship.
The problem could come when the 'customer' insists you do something that isn't readily achievable, to satisfy them.

| If the only way is their way or no way, that is not a resolution. Giving in to the minority who refuse to accept facts and prefer to twist truths does not advance a business. Sometimes people have to be left behind (in the 70's it seems).

I had customers from St Helens in the room that night and the following morning they expressed their surprise at his comments and their support for Alans response
He asked for what he got, if anything it was he who should have been appologising

Joking? 31st January 2001. Neil Turley 6 tries leigh 70 v 0 Workington. (Might not be haven but cut from the same cloth!) However, Steve, the club now has to work with the RFL. (along with all the other clubs) I'm not disputing what has happened in the past, (regular material for a 'Flat Cap' programme article!) but I think you'll find that this BOD/BOM is determined to make themselves known to the RFL and show them how professionally the club will be run.

Unfortunately Andy people do have long and selective memories especially when they do seem to carry a grudge (for perpetuity it would seem) against one or two people -Mick Higgins nearly ran over our cat you know - and drag them up at every opportunity they can and the stories seem to get embellished every time they trudge them out.

| Why even try and compare what has gone to what is happening today? As this thread has shown people have selective memories about certain past administrations. I enjoy reminiscing with the 'older end' of our Speccy base re past players and games - some good times but mostly bad lets face it. As managements go though looking at the now and the future is the only way to go forward, history is just that and it pays no bills - unless of course you teach/lecture in it - enjoy the journey hopefully most will be good but we are Leythers we can take the rough with the smooth.
