In the long run it may work out OK even if you do go down though - a year in NL2 (in old money!) will give Basil a chance to re-build whilst dominating, which may enable you to have a better charge to the top of NL1 the following year?

Wouldn't allow you the chance to get to a NL1 GF before re-franchising though, so you'd have to do well in the Trains Cup instead.

Not the worst idea I've heard. The RFL are keen to reward losing teams in this league so why dont the club reward our players.

It would give the players that think they are not staying next season something to play for in my opinion
