Noticed at Keighley last Sunday that under 16's were free. I got my free tickets in the 50's from Mrs Palmer at the Council School, it's kept me coming ever since.

Told today that one company had joined the scheme, hopefully companies like Widdows Mason and Leighton Packaging will soon follow them to set an example to other local companies

We've just had a re brand done by o, Neills so that why the potters have been delayed, they should be ready anytime now.

The new cover for tonight's programme is an example of the new 'brand' to be used on the posters. (although the text on the posters will be more high profile) Would be inetrested to hear what people think.

Certainly packed them in at Keighley that offer.

I would have assumed all Directors would have led by example where the business scheme was concerned.

Free tickets for school children will work. They are the future of the club and we should be doing our best to encourage them to attend. Another obvious solution is to move the games to Saturday 5:30sh. The older children are then able to get to LSV on public transport. Public transport is rubbish on Sundays.

However, with no possibility of getting into the top league we are just playing friendly games and there is no real possibility of increasing the gates until the RFL see sense and bring P&R back. Who wants to pay £16-£18 to watch a friendly game except for die hard supporters. This has always been the agenda of SL and unfortunately the Championship will be dead within the next few years if P&R isn't reinstated.

Thats why we have to get out of it, we have a great opportunity at the next licence fiasco - we are the best placed - it would be a pity to blow it.

So are you suggested die hards are stupid for attending to watch us try and win the two trophies that are available to us. Or maybe we just want to ensure there is a club in Leigh when the barriers do come down. Because if crowds do keep dropping and non attendance being blamed partly on the RFL for what they are allowing to happen then we will not exist in 2015 no matter what the club tries to do.

no matter what the club does or tries you will always get some folk wanting more , they are the Neros of this world , most who dont come to games and post on here are ex Fans who have fallen out with ths club for some reason .

You wouldnt get some to matches if the club was offering a Chauffer driven service door to door , its not going to happen how many youngsters who havent seen a game read this Forum?NONE.

For me a message to ALL lapsed supporters should be , Cmon please turn up again , or we wont have a club to support , then all the "I told ya so " people will be in their element , we do need new fans , but we need the Lapsed fans more , supporting the Club , not knocking it .

it beats me why Trevor and Keith Freer carry on , when you have ALL the Answers .Its not Soothsayers or Philosophers we need its Supporters .

Everyone has a line they wont cross,some peoples is no P&R and some people 'like me' wont pay outrages prices to watch reserve grade rl.
Its dissapointing that at least a couple of more clubs have not come out and said they wont be reserve clubs next season

We will not be a club at all never mind a reserve team if people use the reserve club thing for much longer. Rules will be changed and we are not anyone's bitch

Personally i am disgusted how the clubs have bowed down to the SL but realise my initial stance did not take into account that non attendance of any games would mean the twinned clubs outlasting my beloved club. Now how disgusting would that be?

I'm going tonight because I love watching RL and support Leigh. It's not the clubs fault the RFL are hopeless, there's no point punishing the club by not attending.

Ive not walked away just yet mate i'll be there tonight and i'll be there for the barra game,but after that who knows.
I just think its time for me to take a step back for most of this season and next, and see what more the clubs and the rl want to introduce on a creeping basis

No they shouldn't, IMO of course. As i've stated in this thread earlier, guilt tripping people will not make them return especially on a regular basis, they need to activley target NEW fans not just focus all their energy on previous who as you habve stated above will never return, that if anything is a waste of time/effort and more importantly money!

Why is stating something that is just reality classed as guilt tripping? If you feel its guilt tripping maybe you actually feel guilty but don't realise it.

Targetting new fans does need to be done. How do you do that with no money? Entrance fees are not just for players wages, its for the infrastructure and marketing of the club. No money-no marketing.

I don't feel guilty in the slightest but, you must admit that is how it could come accross, given the current economy people will want more of a reason to go other than someone saying give me your money or we won't be around much longer.

Charlie is statnig that ex fans are more important than new ones but in a post but minutes earlier says most of the lapsed fans will never return, now if you have that opinion how can you say lapsed fans are more important than new??

As Starbug has stated new fans should always be the main priority, you will always lose some no matter what, you cannot expect people to come for their entire lives, simply won't happen other than the few die hards.

Is the statement about money incorrect...no IMO. If people are not coming due to financial pressures then OK but to not come and blame it on the RFL is pretty lame in my opinion. If 400 Swinton fans did that, they wouldn't get to the next game never mind the end of the season

The point is that that simple message of stating the facts has not worked and will not work again, the clubs new openness policy is good but it shouldn't also be used as a marketing strategy to get fans back, I know sod all about marketing but I do know that if you want peoples money then you need to make them want to give it to you not make them believe they have to do so!!

I would say actually having a club that exists would be a primary reason. If there are no clubs in a position to go into SL then there is no reason for them to change the rules. Result=The RFL/SL achieve the objective of removing all reasons to change.

Rubbish, do you buy anything from tea bags to a new car beacuse you don't want the company to fold? absolutley not, you go because you want/need/enjoy that particular product. its exactly the same, the club need to realise this before its too late!

Yes I understand your point, the club needs to survive, that is its priority but the majority of you die hards seem to completley disregard anyone elses views/opinions.

How do we get a product like Warrington or Wigan or any SL team. I will also dismiss you teabag argument as rubbish. However you are if i am not mistaken from earlier postings of yours a committed non attender.

So what would make you return to Leigh. Please give your answer without any mention of the RFL. We can then compare what you want with what local SL teams currently offer.
