Exactly. They should turn round tomorrow and say:
"Look, this criteria stuff is nonsense - it's to be scrapped. We (a chosen committee) will lay down some guidelines but essentially, WE will decide who participates in SL and who doesn't. End of".

At least we'll have a bit of reality from those running the game and we do away with these tiresome debates about who has more criteria points and all that guff.

And you would have to have an independent panel so no one could have favourtisim over any one team

Apparently Wigan Council paid ours but they are getting thier 'pound of flesh' back through the LSV rent

RFL Development Director Gary Tasker is quoted today as saying:

"They (CC) are in it for the long haul. We are determined to do what we can to help them find new investors."

Oh, goody, goody! Presumably all clubs can now look forward to being helped to find new investors?

It's disgraceful and embarassing now. The participants of a sport being decided by people who just pop in who they fancy? Hope there are some supporters of the idea feeling rather sheepish now.

All joking aside, this can no longer be brushed under the carpet. Now it's the open it's strangling our game with embarassment. Something must be done - it's all like some bad comedy sketch now

Being an extremely grumpy, cynical, M62-corridor Luddite, I can't help thinking the licence criteria will change significantly, because of the 'Economic Climate'!

(and before anyone screams 'jealousy', I personally didn't believe that my club deserved a franchise last time, or that they have yet done anything to change my viewpoint)
