Not being defensive, I think it's hilarious what some fans expect to be told about internal matters and that's from a fan perspective. We have fans who seem to believe everything should be 100% honest 100% of the time, would they then say thank you and not comment positive or negative any further, do they hell.
These fans need to get into a real world situation and do some growing up, what happens inside any business stays within that business until such a time as its mutually right for it not to be.
It's called need to know, and let's be honest we don't need to know. Well done club only tell us what we need to know, and focus on the positives

Why do we have to know everything that goes on at the club, some things are best kept in house and even when statements are made people will not believe it and make up something else.

Don't need to know everything, just don't need to be lied to.

Why not just say Rangi's ill, ask people to respect his privacy and leave it at that. With Penky, say he's not available for selection, or do what liverpool fc did recently and say he's suspended pending UKAD tests. Can say he has full support of the club. Let's face it, nothing the club has said about these two players has done anything to protect them from wild speculation as to what they may have done has it?

Fact is, the club has shouted injury to explain someone's absence, only for something more substantial to become apparent later on two or three occaisions. All it does is add suspicion to other injured players. How does that protect player welfare?!

The club have done the majority of things excellently, this just something they could improve on, we're all only human after all, but people seem to be in denial about it.

In these instances, no comment from the club is better than some bs one.

The problem is poor communication.The "need to know" needs to be improved when being conveyed.Poor communication doesn't effect the clubs interest or player welfare.It effects the image of the Club.

I don't know what Leigh have on board as in Public Relations, reading the posts and IMO it would suggest we are missing some form of PR intervention which would cure poor communication.

Why are you and others so hung up about Jake and all the other issues you are talking about. All of them one way or another are very sensitive subjects to all involved and need to follow various processes before anything can be released. The fact rumours come out is because there are up to 35 players/staff directly involved on most occasions all of which think they can trust people and before you know it the rumours are in the hair dressers, dentists, pubs and play grounds not to mention on here.

The programme was simply a miss print on Jake and the official press release came out the day he left. He did not leave several weeks ago, there is a process to follow on all agreements and any severance agreement can be complicated. The club would be leaving itself wide open issuing official statements on all the topics you mention before anything was legally concluded.

In Mike Latham we have the best communications director in the game, his contacts are unreal, we have regularly appeared on BBC North West news before any other SL clubs which include the biggest in the country.

Communication and Press Releases from Leigh are second to none, how anyone can pick fault with an unpaid member of staff who loves the club, delivers world class service is beyond me.

I made a comment - several pages ago - tat communication could be better at the club. Nothing bitter and twisted about it. You piped up in your usual arrogant way as the unofficial Derek fan club and started talking about hiding behind aliases.

I tweeted the club about Emmitt on Sunday night. People associated with the club know me. I wasn't hiding behind anything and asked a civil question. I find it hard to be civil with you because you've proved your arrogance on here and Twitter countless times.

Last thing I will say on the matter, refusal to use the benefit of hindsight to do improve how you handle things in future is stubborn and arrogant in the extreme. My opinion is claiming injuries when there's something else happening in the background diminishes any credibility in future comms, and just fans the flames of the rumour mill. But hey, let's just keep doing the same thing over and over again. Who needs people to trust that what you are saying is true after all
