Yes the work could have started ,but time is of the essence here , what we are going to attempt is to get 1,000 new people to commit to putting £ 5,000 per month ( and having the business Corporate club match that investement ) for a set period of 18 months to secure the short term future

If once that is done somebody wants to put forward the idea of setting up of a trust , they would be welcome to the contact details of everybody that has signed up , no problem

But right now we have a perfect opportunity to appeal directly to the people most likely to want to put in this money , we have a home match next Sunday to ' sell ' the idea to the fans , and another home game the following week to either confirm it's success or make a further appeal , if we can do this then it I am sure would help to encourage potential new owners/investors to see the clubs fan base react in this way

Several years ago we went down the route of exploring if a trust would work better then what we have now, LISA, and our fans voted vastly against it,
To me the people wanting the trust, could have still set it up and should have done so, then people can choose, though with Leythers ,I think most would have backed both.

At this point we just need people to commit quickly and my idea of 1000 members to sign up in the next week is acheiveable and could bring in £60000 per year, this with the corporate club commitments will be there or there abouts, with the other income the club have already, for us to secure a short term future for the club, then we can look at what is better in the long run.

When you visit the Widnes website you are first greeted by a screen to join the Vikings stronghold. Maybe you could try and do something similar so when ever anybody gies to visit the Leigh site they are initially greeted with a screen suggesting and laying out joining LISA?

Lots of people of upped their LISA membership fees to double today, including our new CEO .

Great idea but how is the money put into the club going to be used? I'm aware the current problems are due to external circumstances but if the money you all put in is going to be spent on players (a stated aim of LISA), how do you propose that the club is going to become sustainable? Simply buying players isn't going to do it. And what happens when this money runs out? Do you do another appeal for more members or wait for the knight on his white horse to come along again and again?

If I were a Leigh supporter I'd be questioning where my money has been going to in the last few years since the club appears to have been reliant on an external benefactors contributions which, now it is no longer there, has left the club up the creek without a paddle. It obviously hasn't been spent on making your club sustainable.

I had a brilliant response so far , to the appeal for 1000 members but what I ve also got is people upping their membership to double, which is brilliant, as I said, our new CEO is also doing this.

We all need to pull together here and get what we all want, a team to support next year.

FWIW I dont want a seat on the board neither for all my hard work, my pleasure will be to know that Ive done the best I could to save my club.

Rochdale, who are currently third in Championship 1 for those that think the model doesn't work. They're also not far from posting a small profit. Obviously as a supporter owned club, that profit will be reinvested into the club rather than lining the pockets of a sugar daddy.

Oh and they don't own their stadium either so have very few money making avenues from that.

regardless of where we play and what competition it is. the point is, we had our club taken away from us because the then owners decided they were bored and shut it down.

we wouldnt let it die, we run the club, we control the club and no one person can cause us to fail.

You haven't grasped the situation we find ourselves in , we have had a benefactor making up the shortfall from what the club can ' earn ' via playing RL and ' raise ' via donation , this benefactor has found himself very rapidly in a position of no longer being able to make up this shortfall , therefore to secure the short term future of the club , we need an influx of cash , what we are suggesting is a large scale increase in the monies provided both by the LISA membership ( fans ) , and the corporate Club ( sponsors ) for a period of time until more long term plans can be arranged

which is great, but who owns the club? by the time you've done all this hard work someone could have come in and bought the club, thanked you for your cash and then decided that they want nothing to do with you (as in LISA and the corporate club).

so why not be doing both?

You have a shareholder husband who has access to all financials by right, transparency comes with a shareholding - you still do not understand that being a Director/Sitting on the board is very different to having a shareholding. Oh and if that was a dig at me, I attend too many board meetings as it is - very over rated imho.
