Who do you support Spegs? Are you a Wakey fan?

It's a bit difficult to know what Super League standard is until a player has had the opportunity to play at that level. The whole of the Bulls team, since the recent flurry of recruitment, has played in Super League but as the club were relegated last year it doesn't follow that they are all SL standard. It looks like those without SL experience have been found to be not suitable so does that make them less than the required standard. If Leigh get promoted the problem will be as to whether they can recruit better players, or should that be players with SL experience.....not necessarily the same thing. Maybe the existing players could survive next year......as in avoiding the drop.Will Wakey SL standard players be of a higher standard.

If you look at the Leigh team quite a lot of them have already played in SL and have slowly moved down the league to where they are now and although its not unthinkable for some of them to have improved and now be able to do a good job in SL, it is slightly unrealistic.

What impression has he gave you for you to come to the conclusion he's a Wakefield fan?

The SL standard myth went out as champ clubs moved FT, SL only has 5/6 SL standard clubs

Maybe we could divide them into 4 different standards......Gold, Silver, Bronze and Rusty Cast Iron. There certainly isn't one definable standard and last year we were group 4.

Not so much that they've slowly moved down, more that a number have had one crack at a Super League club and it's not worked out. But doesn't mean it won't work out second time around for the likes of McNally, Kay, Armstrong, Pala, Brierley, Reynolds, Spencer, Hopkins, Sarsfield. Sometimes a player has to take a step down to take a couple of steps up.

You can't argue with GFB he is always right , the guy gives himself love bites,he still thinks Fax have the BEST pack in the League.

No impression, I was trying to remember where I'd seen him post earlier in the season. I'm sure he came on the Leigh board in the build up to one of the CC games

how many of the leigh lads were only young and wasn't quite ready for superleague and with there only being an u19s comp their respective clubs had to let them go,for me thats why they have to bring back reserve rugby so these clubs can give the players a fair crack to see if they can make the step up

I agree to some extent hence why I said it is possible but it has been a very rare occurrence over the years and to expect about 10 or so players from 1 team to be able to do it is probably unlikely.

Lets see how Fax do 2morro.

I think they will struggle in the 8's because they are not full time.

Everybody talks about gfb but he knows more than 75% of the people on this board! I agree with him about their pack i think they are best followed by Bradford then ours. Fax play aggressive good defence and their line speed is incredible for a part time team of they were full time they would be a real handful!

Im slightly biased but I do not think Fax have gotten enough credit this season for what they have achieved. Finishing above Fev and London in itself is no mean feat and honestly I think at the moment we are the 3rd best team in the league. Our points difference compared to teams below the top 2 is immense and up until today better defence than Bradford is nothing short of remarkable.

Our team for next season will be largely the same with hopefully about 5 quality signings and I think we can give the top 2, whoever they are, a run for their money.

I will admit it, I do not want Leigh to be promoted to SL.............only because I will miss them and do not fancy playing Wakey instead.

If they make it then it will be very interesting to see how they go, they have been the benchmark for a couple of seasons now.

We should struggle in the middle 8's, theres no doubt about that. I think we can have a big say in who does make the top 4 though. One shock win against Bradford or Leigh or even a SL team will leave them struggling.

On the Bradford game I wouldnt be surprised to see us win comfortably today, Bradford are resting players and have nothing to play for and our players are smarting after 2 close defeats to them not to mention been the team in form. If we lose I dont mind eating my words, it wouldnt be the first time.

Your the third best team in your league because all those below you are poor, yet you want credit for being above a team that lost 0-29 at home to Whitehaven

Its hard to bring in quality players when we received only 200K funding but with at least an extra 250k this year should make it a little easier. I can only imagine how easy it is for the teams who have 1.8m to spend year on year though. I guess it makes for a very even SL competition right?

Leigh and Bradford haven't had £1.8m to spend either, but they aren't doing too badly.

Im saying Fax have done well to finish above a full time London team whom I would guess have spent 1m. We have also finished above Fev who have probably spent at least 100-200k more than us. That has taken some doing. You want an award for spending 1.8m and beating a Fax team put together on less than 300K?
