Clubs like Burnley and Hull nowadays are on borrowed time in PL IMO. Bolton have PL pedigree - If he can't keep them up then he knows how to get a side back up again anyway.

Latest statement from Burnley says that they will not make a decision on Owen Coyle for 24 hours. Looks like he wants to go but they are wondering if they want to make him stay. Just been said on five live how funny it is that a player can be made to fullfill his contract but a manager can just walk away. I think it depends on how big the player and it seems to be very easy to get rid of a manager. I thought it was only children who wanted things all their own way.

If a manager wants to go, then it's generally not in a club's interests to stand in their way. Compensation has been agreed so I think it's a case of Burnley making a last-ditch attempt to match BWFC's offer.

Bolton are also reported to be 30 million in debt whereas Burnley have long been known to be a club that operates at a break even level

Double it and add another £10m by the time the compens been paid out.

All managable debt against the stadium etc though (in fact, most of it originates either from building the stadium, or Gary Megson's transfer fund) whereas Burnley's turnover is much lower in terms of hospitality etc, not to mention the money BWFC makes via De Vere.

Rumours are it'll cost BWFC around £3.6m to take Coyle to the Reebok, in a deal that may see Matty Taylor go in the opposite direction for just £1m?!
