Just booked 2 flights on BMI from Manchester on friday night,arrive Toulouse 22:10.Cost £130 each,gone up £12 from last week.Arrive back in Manchester at midnight sunday.

Reckon the Sunday night flight will just be full of Leythers at this rate!

Not yet no, at our work we are are on a 2days on 2nights on then 6 days off pattern and that weekend is the start of my 4 shifts on.
Ive asked people at work to find out when they will be going on holidays, so we can swap a few shifts about, Ive also got a World Poker Tour event in Vegas in April i need swaps for aswell, its just a case of waiting on people to sort their holidays out so it can all be finalised. I'm 90% sure that i will be going, just cant book it yet.

shouldn't worry too much about speaking french,they speak perfect english in The Melting Pot - that's all you need !

sorry but do you mean 'courant' ? as opposed to 'coulant' which is a bit different !

ie : fromage coulant = runny cheese ! or coulant = smooth for example

just had the same email, might go wednesday direct to toulouse instead. not ieal but tuesday is too early and i don't fancy only getting there late friday night

don't know if it's of any help but there are regular flights to & from Limoges about 3 hours away (to many uk destinations on Flybe & Ryanair) then on to Toulouse on the train (Paris - Toulouse mainline) might be easier to take the plane then train ? It's a good train link,we use it occasionally - just a thought...

Just had the email from Ryanair changing the flights - out Tuesday, In Saturday.

as I said,check out other routes ie Liverpool to Limoges

Ryanair do,for example Liverpool to Limoges on the friday (24th june) and the return to Liverpool on the sunday or monday (26/27th june) - there are regular trains to and from Toulouse/Limoges

Applied for a refund with RyanAir and booked on the Wednesday BMI Baby flight from Manchester to Toulouse...perfect excuse for another day there, which in turn is the perfect excuse to go in a posher hotel than the Ibis!

Theres 8 of us flying out from Bristol on the Friday, should arrive in toulouse between (5 and

....5 more hours in melting pot if your thinking about taking the friday bmibaby flight....as its a stag do we thought the drinking time was more valuable.

Theres 2 spare seats in the cars if anyone is switching to these flight...shouldnt cost more than a tenner for petrol and hire we need to set off from atherton around 7ish.

I recall some english friends went into a hardware store (quincaillerie) to get a length of plastic pipe for a drain connection and the english lady,god bless her asked the man,quite innocently for 'un petit pipe s'il vous plait' - the guy in the shop was rather taken aback cos' the word 'pipe' in french is slang for 'blowjob' ! (true story btw)
Another english friend who moved over used to go to the local minimarket,do her shopping and,on the way out,take a copy of the 'Charente Libre' which is a local newspaper - she just took it without paying for several weeks before realising that 'Libre' didn't mean it was a freebie paper ! 'Libre' in that sense meant the county of Charente is 'Free' ie originating from the freedom from the german occupation etc

the vagaries of the french language are as common as those of any other language - the french usually make allowances for the foreign visitors but will always respect a foreigner who at least makes an attempt to speak french,however badly...
