We try and sign the Halifax team every year according to Halifax, not that they are stuck up there own booty or anything. I suppose while they are top they think they are allowed to be. Just like they thought they could try and pull a fast one with the fixture rearrangement.

They have pulled out all available cash to try and get the NRC win or GF appearance this year. Barrow also seem to be doing the same. Widnes - Mr O'Connor will pour his money in regardless every year, and hopefully we have chosen next year to go all out. So it could be Leigh/Widnes next year with Fax and Barrow as also rans

If thats what you want to believe thats up to you. Its just i can't see you spending the same amount of money next year as this. Widnes seem to be cutting their cloth with players going out on loan all over the place. They will be a lot stronger next year. The reality for you is if you do win the NRC or get to the GF then thats Job 1 done. There will be no need to overspend next season as you will have qualified to apply for Stupid League. Unless thay kick a Yorkshire side out I can't see them adding another one, so thats you stuffed by Dicky boy.

Other than your un qualified opinion, wheres the evidence that we have over spent this year as you are implying? Like most clubs we live within our means, we dont have an over draft facility so that would make it near imposible for us to spend money we dont have. I used to respect Leigh fans but alot seem to be jealous that we have a better team and players than them. Maybe if you had save your cash and not blown your wad on the season Tony Benson was in charge you might have had a little cash to sign more decent players.

I wonder if anyone on here on our board really knows where he'll be playing next year? We have this ever year but you guys seem a bit more confident this year. Matt Calland has today signed a new 2 year contract and is mates with penky, this might make him want to stay at Fax, although he may want to give it a chance at Leigh! The good thing is we won't be held to ransom, we showed this last year with Holroyd, not that i'm suggesting Penky is trying to hold anybody to ransom. Time will tell.

Penky is a huge mate of Rowley's too, but is it a good thing that a player is a 'good mate' of the coach?

Not sure, I bet a lot of us have at some point had to work for our friends and at times it isn't easy and relationships become strained. One thing possibly in Fax's favour is that Penky knows what it's like playing for Matt Calland and re-signed last year knowing that Calland would be in charge. Could argue though that one thing in Leighs favour is that a change is as good as a rest and he may fancy playing his rugby somewhere else! Time will tell!
