IIRC, the poll I did last year returned quite strongly that Sat 6pm was likely to return an increase in the gate compared with Sun pm.

Starbug,i enjoyed the fact is that there is things going on all the time,when watching football you could be stood still for 10-15 minutes with naff all going on on the field up to one end give possesion away back to the other end give possesion away, same old, but rugby your constantly shouting (high tackle, forward pass, great kick through, excellent try etc) i really enjoyed it and yes i have been to games since that i have thought what a load of crap, but Leigh are my team now and i continue to return week after week to cheer on the lads and this is what we have to make people of leigh and the surrounding areas to realise.

Also Starbug Leigh have the best sort of database out there they have the superleigh lottery thousands upon thousands of Names and address's get a mass mail out to them people about promotions, special offers Mid season ticket prices and yes feed them info and hope to get a bit of feedback back from them , see if we could get them down to the LSV. there are plenty of things LSV could do to try a boost attendances.

IMO beginning of the season and a majority of last season we where barely breaking 1600-1700 gates now where seeing 2000 - 2300, where getting back the people who have lost interest because the team werent doing that well, yes maybe £14 to see your team get hammered is their own decision, but now where getting all them people back in bits and bats because where now winning. lets just wait and see what the next couple of home games bring. also whilst we are winning and playing some good rugby exploit it to the full to try and entice people back.

But surveying existing fans just gives you preferences - not additional fans. We need to know how many EXTRA people would come if the day & time was changed. Two ways of doing that - (1) survey town centre / ASDA / Parsonage area or (2) try it.

That is not a bad idea matey - the club need to do a major one off 'thing ?' to try and get an immediate significant increase in crowds. They are increasing and may continue to do so but it needs to be by more than a couple of hundred each game.

In the 60's I remember a match where women were allowed in free it worked as the crowd for that particular game did go up.

I expect most of our present female fans have season tickets but it might work.

So you have become a supporter of the club , not a winning team , not a particular coach , not a particular bunch of players , a win , lose or draw loyal fan , those are the sort we need , not the " I'll watch them in SL " fan , or the " The beers too dear " fan , or the " I'll not watch them while the Directors are ' strutting their stuff ' and taking all the money out " fan , but who are those fans , and how do you get them ?

Warms the heart to see such geniune supporters are still out there great stuff.....so lets get them in with a family ticket,no freebie just a fair price to hook them,it costs nothing to the club as these people were not coming if the offer was not there?

When hubby is at the pub on a sunday afternoon how do you entice down the kids ? , you get mum to bring them , how do you get mum to bring them ? , well I'd suggest a load of fit young men in tight shorts , but you will not get women coming to a match on their own , how often do they go to the loo on thier own ? , so you need to get them in groups as basically they need somebody to talk to every 30 seconds , so a combination of offers via schools and shops
