This is just plain annoying. Most supporters, including me, won't understand it and it is symptomatic of the RFL mindset. Whatever it was we did, if it is just some technical offence from the previous season most supporters will be very disillusioned with the whole thing. Just feel like the game is run by bean counters who have no idea about the fans.

losing to batley  you based your salary cap on reachin the final , even tho you had just been relegated , I do like Leigh and I am sorry for the fans at this deduction , but that was being very optimistic pre 2010 season |

Why should he be concerned he cant do anything about it.
After what the club has been through and continues to go through this is just small fry by comparison,in fact i'm quite happy that we haven't been fined.

I think its disgraceful when the RFL bail out quins and cru seasonally, and ok cru got points deducted, bit mismanagement and ending up in the doo doo isn't the same as a technicality yet they both carry a punishment of points deduction, again another reason why everything is so terribly wrong with our game whilst Dick head Lewis is in charge

Surely a point deduction should be reserved for cheating and serious offences.
Why not deduct the amount we went over +10% from next seasons salary cap, something like that. As long as the RFL don't believe it was purposeful cheating, then why hand out a points deduction?

Sadly for you its real, it says technical breach, seems your income forecasts did not match up to reality, I think it is a very basic error in that clubs I assume worst case scenario support wise and work from there not the other way round.
To me no matter how its dressed up a breach is a breach and I have no doubt there will be others in same boat, but super league clubs will get away with it.

With this method do clubs (Leigh in this case) say we will make x amount of money in x games, They then take this to the Rugby Football League who then check it and agree that it looks achievable ? ?

How did the brainiacs at the RFL come up with a 3 point deduction???
Wig*n 2007 - second offence in 2 years and they got 4 point deduction. The RFL said the deduction was proportionate to the offence. It could have been up to 12 points.
Given the fact they breached the cap by £220,000 in 2007 and the points deduction was ''proportionate'' to the offence that would mean we breached the salary cap by £165k?!?!?!? I very much doubt we were that far out on our predicted income.
Which had been approved by the RFL when accounts were submitted.
And this is our first bl**dy offence!!
On these issues alone we must have strong grounds for appeal.

Probably , and we might lose , which would result in a 3 points deduction and possibly a fine , or we might win , and the penalty gets reduced to a fine
