Just a little reminder to all of you giving Swinton stick...its your house that isnt in order not ours,sad as I am to say that and I am honestly not gloating,and that of the 17 players we have confirmed as signing 16 of them were with us last season! Not exactly splashing it around. And eight of that 16 were with us the year before. These are facts not rumours.

Mark , you'd be hard pushed to find a Leyther giving the Lions any real ' stick ' , I'd go as far to suggest that like myself there are many from Leigh who would follow your club next if we didn't exist , I and many other leythers look forward to visiting you and having you at ours this coming season

To be fair the circumstances were a little different then. There was a lot of mistruths banded about then and the club didn't handle things at all well. People were at a low ebb by the loss of Tony Benson as coach. As far as I remember everyone got paid.

We were fortunate in the fact that AT came on board and began to bank roll the club and run it his way. The financial landscape was very different then too.

Fast forward 5 years and we've had 2 recessions, lots of redundancies, record levels of unemployment. I don't think the money is there for people to invest. We've got firstly club staff and then secondly club players who are going without wages.

Forget the investment, forget the one great white knight, he's been locked out of the castle. That said, if one appears this must be seen as a Brucie bonus. Fan involvement has to be the future in line with a sound business plan and one that can be built on. Who knows, if it is run well and the club continues and progresses it could attract investment.

We could do with a little bit of the fine Carlos Tevez has been given, 1.5million. Does anyone have Sheikh Mansour's email address?

Not at all D. When I know we've asked every businessman women and general fan of Leigh can we help or donate then I will settle for under paying people. Anything short is a disgrace.

I'd hazard a guess a high number of us have been through redundancy situations in recent years it's not nice to say the least!!

In all fairness Ste would you be able to compile such a list? I'd say that just about every possible outlet has been used to highlight the financial problems and in all honesty I think you're doing a bit of a dis-service to the people who are working their nads off to come up with fundraising ideas and implement them.

You haven't been to a RFL council or APC meeting have you ?

The majority sit there quietly , one or two voice their concerns , Nigel or Richard ( probably Ralph now ) give the pre selected answers on how they are looking at all the options and are confident things will be fine , then they have the buffet

On the subject of marketing , take a look at some of Gutterfaxs ideas on the 'This time of year again ' thread on the Quinbroncos site , they are very good , and let's face it , their problems are similar to ours , him being a genuine ' Marketing Guru ' currently working in New Zealand , but a cockney RL convert , gives him a clearer view of the sport and the problems within it
