Like everyone else I hope to hear encouraging news about Ste soon.

I must point out however my original post was wrong as it was the Sheffield club Doctor and not the Leigh club Doctor who rushed over to this unfortunate incident.

I was handed Janes number last night and have rang her earlier today to thank her for for what she and others did for Stephen on behalf of everyone associated with Leigh Centurions.

She was extremely emotional when I spoke to her and obviously shaken up by what had happened but has asked to be kept updated on his progress and I have promised to keep her informed as soon as any further news is made clear.

I also recieved the following message last night from Stephens brother:

I've invited Jane and hope Anne will join her to the return fixture so we can as a club properly express our gratitude for what they did and we hope that Stephen will be able to also thank her in person as we believe that he will beat this and come through fighting like the team he loves.

Never has the strap line "We are in this together" been more appropriate and from the board to all the staff and volunteers to the coaching staff and players along with the 18th man we are all together in this wishing Stephen a full and speedy recovery.

Hoping for positive news very soon.

Just had a message from Ody that they are keeping Ste sedated until tomorrow and once again thanks for the countless best wishes from everyone.

Hi Matt, was gonna pm you about yesterdays rugby/footie, but with what has happened to Stephen, it all seems a little irrelevant at the moment.

We hope the lad's o.k. Puts things into perspective.

The one aspect that remains consistent from following Leigh away these days is that young Ste, his Brother, and his Father are always in attendance no matter where our team are playing.

Get well soon Ste , our team needs you back where you belong.

5 more days to get yourself up and out of that bed Ste before we play again . Come on Ste were all praying for you .

After seeing on Leigh Centurions banter page & pray for Stephen group on facebook I thought I'd inform people about what's going on tonight. Balloons and sky lanterns are being let off for Ste tonight between 9-9:30 on marshes playing field. Everyone is welcome to come along with some players coming after training too please come and pray for Ste if you can.

Thanks John , just shows what a strong united Family the RL Supporters can be , im sure Steves Family will appreciate the messages on this Forum .

There was a great turn out for this event and it was more upbeat with the good news we all had earlier.

Amazed how many people turned out, a source of great comfort for everyone I think and a pleasure to attend given the positive developments of earlier today. Very touching speech by Paul Rowley and I'm sure Ste will be very proud.

And even people going past in cars piping their horns as well Matt, hope he's back with us all in the North Stand soon mate.

Smashing turnout and lots of youngsters in Leyth colours far outnumbering us oldies.

Get back soon Ste. I know he wants to be at Leeds fingers crossed lad.

Oh and sorry I ruined 1 of the Chinese lanterns it wasn't my fault obviously.

It was excellent show of support with the big attendance I'm sure Ste & his family appreciate the full support of the club
