I think a supporters trust would be a much better option than having 5 or 6 small business men making policy and taking all the decisions,we know from experience they lack the ability to do it.it would be completely pointless going down that road again.

I still raise the question of whether you were CEO, working the gate, selling programmes, cameraman, water carrier. After the season we have just had would you not pay £110 season ticket value to the club in our hour of need.

Going forward apart from players/coaches everyone should pay to watch us!!

Of course they should , but they don't , not enough of them , so how do you get more people to go ? , why don't they go ? , who are they ?

In a time of need why shouldn't EVERYBODY apart from players and coaches pay to watch a great season??

Absolutely JC and in Freds case that is spot on. But again in our hour of need can that time not be put to one side and acknowledge payment for what's been a tremendous product in 2011. Again this is across the board to all Leigh volunteers/employees?

Speaking on behalf of the 'volunteer' Professional Support Group, I would say they all pay (as spectators, sponsors, box-holders, diners) to watch the games Ste. I'm not sure how many others get in 'free'.

I know how many hours I put in, but that is nothing compared with the unsocial hours that Fred has to endure, to meet the demands of the coaching team etc. I would also point out that it actually costs some of the 'volunteers' to fulfil their roles. So, maybe we shouldn't also expect them to pay as well?

This isn't about Fred it's about every 'volunteer', it's a suggestion to get some more money in whilst we are struggling. People should climb down from their ivory towers. Nobody Is having a go at anyone certainly not me. For the final time it's a suggestion that anyone who may have watched us free this year whilst volunteering for a duty can they/ will they donate season ticket money.

Asking volunteers to pay for the priviledge makes no sense at all Steve.....taking that to it's natural conclusion means you should be asking the players to pay every time they turn up as well!!!

I'm all for 'tightening up' access to the 'golden gate'.....but not by 'biting the hand that feeds'!!! As has already been said - if we had to pay for the work the volunteers do, this club would have gone under years ago!!

Lets generate more money by selling season tickets (and merchandise) to the new/lapsed fans, eh??

Simple solution is that approved volunteers may have a free pass, with bar code to scan and photo ID. Just stop the free tickets.

Being a outsider looking in like most, do the club give out free tickets for each match (apart from the Thurs TV games) ?
At HP it was frightening just how many went through the Golden Gate, but at LSV I assumed its more difficult to do this because everyone needs to be accounted for etc.

I wouldnt ever want a free pass at a home game, no matter what I do or have done, even if I worked at the club, unless I was working on the day that is.

Never said you would, as I wouldn't, hence if they wanted - I assumed game day volunteers.

Funniest one I had was when we did an exercise on the Golden Gate for Nolan, my Dad went in with my season ticket in his pocket and I ended up paying as well volunteering and having a season ticket.

That day was very eye opening for how many concessions were aged between 21-50, how Rochdales players gave tickets to their fans (all 20) and just how many went through the GG.

It seems to me that many on this subject are forgetting that the club is not responsible for access to the LSV , and the LSV management don't allow anybody into the stadium without payment unless they gave a very good reason

Not freeloaders, simply a change in mind set/culture were by irrelevant of your voluntary work would/could you still pay to watch ??
