I'm bricking it, I just hope there's some better news on the horizon soon. If a supporters trust is set up i'm willing to give into it, but i'd feel better if there were a few positive rumours but there really arn't.

Are Rochdale a supporters trust? Seems to have brought them some stability if true although some fellas in Ireland are claiming they saved them. Would probably need a new deal with LSV to make it work for Leigh.

If there is no potential immediate investment, then the only option is to cut costs immediately.

If we can keep as much as the consistantly playing 1st teamers together, then all well and good.
Anyone prone to injury's, over 23 (on a decent contract) who are consistently in the reserves must go.
Trim the squad (admittedly difficult until their contract expires or unless another club takes them off our hands).
Plough any monies in to the 1st team only, that's all that matters.
Forget scholorships etc etc. that's what East and Miners do well developing the future players.

What does it matter if we don't have these teams, it maybe a SL requisite but we are many many years away from reaching that platform, if ever.

We'll be back to a very small retainer fee plus larger winning bonuses.

As a Fax fan who couldn't make the game I listened on the radio to the guys commentating and what surprised me was they gave two figures..2500 and 3000 (there seemed confusion which was more accurate)for supporters to come through the gate just to break even. That itself must be a worry as clubs like Fax and Leigh always hover around the 2.5k mark when decent teams come to our grounds but then you get the likes of Dewsbury and Sheffield with virtually nil away support and do not have that "extra" factor to bring out those hit and miss supporters that brings down the attendances drastically

Someones (Starbug?) mentioned the fact on here that at Hilton Park we needed to average 2500 to break even, at the LSV it's 4000. Think i've got that right, if not someone will correct me.

At Hilton Park it was around 2800

Thats a rather large break even point and one you are never going to hit anywhere other than SL.

If those figures are true then moving to the LSV may well be the biggest mistake your club has ever made. The only Club to play in this division recently and hit that kind of average was Cas, and fair play to them they have 4.5k -5k die hard fans. Leigh, I think in the early 2000's your crowds may have come close to that figure. But the interest is not there at this level anymore since the RFL want it run as a beefed up reserve league for SL players.

If you dont get a big backer like Widnes did i would advise trying to take a hand as a supporters trust.

Totally unrealistic even doing well in SL these days with none or little travelling species from London, Wales and France we would be lucky to average 4k over a full season.

Once again the club has been managed poorly and sold down the river yet the people responsible retain hero status.

As you well know one mans business's have gone under and thats had a knock on effect on the club.

All expenditure should be based on realistic attendances only, not pie in the sky presumptions.

If 4000 is break even with a full compliment of staff, then what is the breakeven required just to pay LSV.

If it's 2500 then the whole situation is not sustainable.

10,000 was the figure quoted by the Hull KR chairman, wasn't it? And I bet they've got more income streams than us in terms of the bars etc.

Just as the 4,000 break even in the Championship applies to spending at full salary cap and running everything the RFL requests you to do , the 10,000 in SL would also be spending at the full salary cap there

It is no point being in SL with attendances of 5/6,000 spending 2/3 rds of the other clubs and limping along at the bottom every year until all your fan base gives up

By break even I mean without any financial input from your BOD , you can run the club on less , but eventually you end up back where you started , and back to where we now find ourselves
