I would have riddy back at leigh to if fev are cutting wages in half and we offer same money as them I’m sure he would come back and cut out the travelling 3 times a week. I can’t honestly see drew and Ben stopping with us next season as they both have stated we should to start to try build a squad of decent part timers with ability to challenge for a top four spot similar to what Halifax have done and then build on that things are going to get worse before they get better we all know that'"
Fully agree Monty 100% ,I can't see Hutchy being with us next year , not sure about Ben, but Ryan and Riddy would be a good way to start building a team again, chuck in Higson and Pownall could be willing to return, we won't be a SL team so why mention SL class players?
As has been said , there are 2 sides to every story, maybe we have been told what was felt , we needed to be told.

'"
Again Gunner, you are correct, scrum halves shouldn't have to tackle, Lee Briers and Long didn't, Ryan always goes to centre when the opposing side have the ball. Also the kids love him, he was always last off the field at the LSV posing for pics, and was a good ambassador for the Club.As was Riddy,he may not have been fully fit at the start of the season, but he certainly was when Fev arrived at the LSV this season.

I think he was lucky to get that contract too.
However, in terms of getting real, do we seriously believe his departure was solely because of his & his agent's ambition/greed?! Or did the 'Club' play a significant role in the affair?
However, I can't see him returning now.

Riddy's was the darling of Sky, pre-season, appearing regularly, on the box. I have a hunch that didn't go down too well, with some at the club! Granted, he wasn't always the fittest, but he also played when injured, and was quicker than most, where it counts - I.e. Between the ears!

| Riddy was made a scapegoat by Jukes after being thrown in against Cas the first game of last year unfit after having back problems all pre season and not being able to train. He then went and got Huddersfield out of the bottom 8 and was shafted by Jukes. Practically every player in the team asked Jukes to bring Riddy back from Hudds and he wouldn't because he'd lose face.
Gregg McNally was never given a chance based on defence?? he immediately made us more potent in attack when he did get a chance, has any of you seen Gareth Obrien tackle? hes still one of the best fullbacks in the UK game.
Brierley manufactured his own move after having his request for a pay rise knocked back, he was quickly found out of his depth in SL and even now his "mentor" Rowley has dropped him against teams where something is at stake, read into hat what you will.
None of the players liked or even respected Jukes that's where the problem was, I don't know of any other club that sacks all the players instead of the coach??
Look at Huddersfield & St Helens now.

| Binosh is spot on about Jukes.
The club knew early this season that a wedge was developing between Jukes and the players. 2017 was all repeating itself early in 2018. Derek was under immense pressure.
The reaction from some of this seasons squad later on the day that Jukes actually fell on his sword tells us everything.
A more diplomatic assessment was made by Harrison Hanson in his programme notes following the Toulouse defeat, but telling all the same.

Hi Alan
In this situation the last thing anyone interested in taking over the club or forming a new one would want is to have their name(s) banded about all over the place. I think we just have to be patient on this occasion. The worst possible situation would be if a premature announcement were made and then it all went pear-shaped as happened recently at Whitehaven.

Hi Brian,
I understand that fully and I wouldn't expect, or feel entitled, to know anything about that.
It's other aspects of communication I feel are lacking: -
e.g. How are the injuries to Liam Hood, Nathan Mason, and Rhys Evans progressing? (the lack of information on Hood, led to rumours that he had left the club)
Is Ryan Bailey still with us?
Is Jamie Acton to be considered for the remaining matches?
Why are we not producing a match day magazine?
Why was the scoreboard not working for the Swinton game?
Why was there no statement, thanking the players who left for 'pastures new' before the transfer deadline?
Why are we so quick to announce 'positive' news, but shy away from saying anything about the 'not so positive?
Do you get my drift? I've always been a firm believer in keeping your customers/potential customers informed. That way, they feel part of the club. We are failing miserably to do that, at the moment.

Thanking them, they are the reason we are in such a position, no wonder they are playing well for their new clubs, they have plenty of energy left after their efforts with Leigh this season, (Hansen excluded)

However well or badly they played, they get my thanks for wearing the shirt and stepping over that whitewash to play for Leigh. They probably weren't the best acquisitions we ever made, but they played for us. Surely, just even a one-line 'thank you' would have been ok? We have not been shown in a wonderful image, this past season, and I think it's an accumulation of the 'small' things like this, (and bigger ones!) that have contributed to our reputation amongst other clubs.

What would that reputation be Alan, if you are a bang average player go to Leigh, you will get payed top dollar well in excess of that your abillity warrents.
I will never ever be convinced otherwise that those who I believe through a very reliable source 6 players who had contracts over 100K are the reason Leigh Centurions are in the dilemma we find the club in.

That wasn't what I meant about our 'reputation' Harry. I fully understand, and agree with what you are saying about these players - especially if what you say about their remuneration is true! The blame for our 'situation' rests almost entirely on the shoulders of an under-performing group of players - in my opinion.
I was getting at a perceived (and justified?) lack of professionalism elsewhere in the club. Financial constraints, and a lack of bodies, are a couple of factors, leading to very little news coming out of the club, and what does come out appears heavily 'spun' at the moment. It is my opinion that you have to engage with your public, or risk losing them!
P.S. By the way, for clarification, I would not expect the club to be commenting on any future potential ownership - until any such deal is done and dusted.

Alan I was well aware of what you meant by the clubs reputation, cynically I took the opportunity to express my feelings, it really hurts to see where we are and considering where we should be with a wage bill of £1.68 M.
I agree with everthing else you penned, and yes the info of those contracts comes from a source who would be privvy to that information, no need to doubt him.

Not cynically Harry - maybe realistically, eh? Just to think, when we signed these players, our owner was saying that he couldn't believe how KC had snapped them up at the price he paid. Being naive, I thought he meant we had got them at a bargain price!!
I don't know about you, but I feel gutted at the opportunity we were given, by the other SL clubs, and have blown it? We've been there before, but it seems even more painful this time!

| Craig Hall, Jordan Thompson, Pete Mata'utia all very good signings & doing very well elsewhere, add to that Ben Crooks, James Clare & Bryson Goodwin *who the club/Derek should have moved heaven & earth to keep* I hope Brysons price was high, Ryan Hampshire doing well at Wakey + Samisoni Langi & Josh Drinkwater at Catalans, all lost or let go at various points.
We had a very good squad in both 2017 & 2018 barr the odd filler, what we lacked is a proven top level coach that the squad believed in & respected.
Edit.
We never really got to see the best of Pat Vai-Vai or anything much at all of Kyle Lovett who rarely got selected.

Saints' coach Justin Holbrook, recently commented on the ridiculous situation where players who are responsible for bringing a club to its knees, were then promoted, en masse, to Super League. I wonder who/what he was talking about?
