You can't have a TV operator advertising a game it intends to charge people to watch and make money without them having the decency to actually contact the club whose ground its at (and who could lose revenue because of it), a well run TV business should have discussed this with all parties affected by a TV game wherever its at.

I can fully understand Derek asking them to discuss financial arrangements.

As long as his dispute with Premier Sports does not result in the away fixture not being televised-Leigh fans would not be happy with him if that was to happen.

I personally couldn’t give a toss if the away game is on TV, and certainly shouldn’t be used as leverage to make sure DB bends over for a broadcaster that isn’t having any financial input

One away game doesn't make a season..I think most Leythers couldn't care less on the return fixture being televised or not. The point is that either Toronto/Premier have jumped the gun.

If they want expanasion,then splash the dosh.

Fact-the Championship/Super league clubs handed their TV rights to the Rugby Football League to negotiate a deal collectively.

Fact-the Rugby Football League sold the rights to Sky Sports and Sporting Club Leigh Ltd like all other Championship/Super League clubs receive an amount of money out of that income.

Fact-Sporting Club Leigh Ltd like all other Championship/Super League clubs have given their individual TV rights to the Rugby Football League therefor DB cannot negotiate a private deal with Premier Sports neither can Premier approach DB to do a deal. Premier have done the deal through the Rugby Football League and Sky Sports and DB knows this.

Fact-Everybody in North America with and interest in Rugby League now knows who owns Leigh Centurians.

After supporting the Comics for 60 plus years if there's one thing I have learned about this club is don't take all that's said and printed as FACT. Our present owner should be congratulated on the success he has brought to the club that has put the town back on the Rugby League map in the short time he has been in charge. I have never met him and I don't know him but as far as the Rugby Club in concerned he's the best owner we have had for a long long time.

How many Leigh fans would not be happy ? In fact how many RL fans would not be happy given that Premier has lost the NRL which is the main draw for subscriptions ?

I certainly would not subscribe to Premier just to watch T.W v Leigh !!!

Premier also put a number of Toronto matches on their other channel Freesports number 95 on ordinary TV hoping they show it on there if not will have to find a pub/club with the pay channel.

It will be on youtube and LCTV a few days later so who gives a hoot if they don't show it from Toronto

All the championship clubs nee dto saty no to them entering the grounds unless a deal is reached. the rfl can swivel along with the poor sky deal not showing a single game apart from the summer bash and middles 8s

They don't receive central funding,so are entitled to create their own broadcasting rights.

Leigh have already been paid for the game to be televised via Sly. Sly have to state how many games they are willing to broadcast in the Championship,even though they own the rights to them all.

We know they will show Summer Bash along with the 8's,so that leaves all other league fixtures vacant. Under EU law,if they are approached by another broadcaster who are willing to fill the vacant fixture,they have to accommodate them.

That certainly is news to me - and with the sound of it a lot more on here

Toronto at home in SL would fall into the same category as Catalans. beIN SPORTS broadcast Catalans home games not Sly.Toronto would be the same with Premier,although I think Premier only have a two year contract with Toronto,this being the final year.

If they reach SL before 2021 then they'll receive central funding,so their away games as with Catalans will be covered by Sly.

So many TV corporations and we still dont get Championship games on!!

Its been the demise of the game hasn’t it! The word “exposure” works in conjunction with the word “expansion”…

Championship clubs have their arm twisted up their back. Take your pocket money and follow the rules. The rules being we pay you pocket money to not give you “exposure” which effectively will not give you any “expansion”…

You can always try and market your games better with the “exposure” we give you and should have major sponsors along with investors queuing at your door.

If all fails we can always expand to North America and you’ll reap the benefits from there in four years time, but until then we will continue to reap benefits for you and give you your pocket money.
