| Quote ="Dico"A few years ago, im saying about 15ish there were NO away fans hardly at SL games. Like hardly any.. Then, as i'm sure most of you are aware the RFL brought a great little incentive in which over a few years increased away gates exponentially.
U16 season pass holders get in free to away games with season tickets. It was a great idea and I dont see why it wouldnt be workable in the Chp'"
It has been in place for years, but try imagining a Huddersfield size of away support as a % of their home gate and extrapalate it across nearly all clubs, then take away the Wigan/Saints derbies you enjoy and what you are left with is the reality of away support in the Championship, with the exception of Fax, Swinton and Fev nobody will break 100 away fans.
Dico you are clueless about reality outside SL please either read up on it or refrain from making a tool of yourself by abstaining.

| Oh, in that case then NEEEEXXXT.
Only trying to help old warrior.
This one really is breaking the mold but.. wait for it.. try not charging about 14 quid a game when I could go down the road to Wigan in ten times better surrounds for 18 quid

Your previous post once again showed your lack of knowledge of the sport outside SL , would you now like to explain how a seat at the DW is ten times more comfortable than a seat at the LSV ?

| Ahh the pedantic one, oh how I've missed you and your pointless ramblings about any two words of a phrase when you can't be bothered looking at my conjecture for what it is. Its no wonder you and Smokey get on so splendidly, you with your pedantry, him with his drumming 15 page long quotes down one's throat.
To spread it out like fine butter I will explain: the standard of play is far superior; the atmosphere is far superior, the view is far better from a seat rather than standing (each to their own) and overall, for your £4, you're treated to a far superior product.
To pick up on that and claim otherwise is just madness and explains why Leigh are in the situation that they find themselves in if they can't identify with that issue.

Time to shut the door and pack it in then wouldn't you say , maybe all the semi pro , Football League and Championship football clubs should call it a day as well , better still whats the point of Quins/Bronco's , Salford ,Huddersfield , Cas and Wakey ? , Oi , Mr O Connor , dont bother mate , this Wire fan reckons you're wasting your time
Maybe a few years back you lot should have just shut Wilderspool and all gone to Central Park , lets face it , not many were to bothered turning up back then , and you won F*** all for decades

You said ' surrounds ' , not atmosphere , not quality of players , so if you cant explain yourelf properly , it isn't my fault , and it isn't pedantic , as for the view being better from a seat , dont you lot have standing and seating , whereas they dont at the DW ?

| Oh jesus that time of the month.. Simply put, it's madness that a nice cushy seat at the DW costs only a few quid more than Leighs part time venue.
Most people would agree hence Leighs problem.
So yes, if you havent the backer to cover the shortfall or solve this problem.. then.. well yes you may as well pack up and go home.

So you suggest what ? Exactly , 5 quid to get in ? , that'll solve the problem
Your understanding of the issues is amazing
If you havent a contribution other than stating the blindingly obvious I'd suggest you might as well go home

| Yes but im not the one whinging about it and getting my meat and two veg in a twist because the RFL wont provide you with 1.2 million to save your little village team.
Fundamentally its a bad business model as im sure you're well aware, RL clubs dont make money. If you can't sustain yourselves at this level and blatantly the people of Leigh arent interested then im afraid, quite rightly, there's only one way you're going

You mean a ' business model ' where our owner puts money in every year to allow us to break even , that business model ? , how many SL clubs are still operating to that very same business model after recieving 1.2 million ?
Simple question , I expect a simple answer

| Im not disagreeing with you, other than sticking Chp clubs against SL clubs is a bit of a moot point as they're run very differently. But if you can't survive at that level you'd sure as hell have a tougher time surviving at our level which is where, in complete honesty where all these anti RFL paddys come from: envy.
FWIW I think the clubs to operate a decent loss last year in SL.. 6 of them I believe although i wouldnt put my life on it. Clubs running a profit were Leeds, Wire, Wigan, Cas, Hull and a couple of the others broke even

No they aren't , they are run exactly the same , but with more money
Which others ' broke even ' ? , and did Cas operate at the Max SC ?
So essentially at least half of SL is completely insolvent , excellent ' Business model ' that is , so dont come preaching to us , your robes are not as white as you think they are

| I never stated they were, the difference being people in SL are WILLING to put money into teams with big catchment areas, bigger stadiums, and bigger potential.
Lets not forget that Saints and Salford have invested much in new stadia, bills they wont have from next season onwards.
Cas operated at a 1.4 million salary cap and competed well. A bit short but turned a profit and competed well, perfectly happy with that model of business.
10 teams will operate at full cap next year

Oh dear , another one , Salford have not contributed 1 penny to the Barton stadium , you reaaly do need to get out ' there ' more and actually find out what is happening in the world of RL before you come on here trying to tell people how things are
Also do you have any idea how much Saints have borrowed to build their place ? , they are not going to be happy paying £ 25 quid a ticket next year

Again a misunderstanding.
The Willows as a ground was costing plenty to maintain whereas although under a SMC they'll pay rent, most of the bills lie in their responsibility.
Why would Saints be bothered? Thats what you pay at loads of grounds

They will also lose all their revenue stream from the Willows
So you pay £ 25 at Warrington ? , sure you mention £ 18 quid somewhere down the line earlier for SL RL

| Standing V Seating. The cheapest ticket at saints wont be 25 quid but I think a seat in the north stand at warrington is dearer than 25 quid.
18 quid was Wigan, who, are quite a bit cheaper than Warrington and ofc, your main competition.
Ahh but how much revenue to Salford actually bring in when a 3000 higher crowd average, for example, could be achieved? I think they'd take the crowds tbh

Yeah, pretty sure without dragging it all out and looking for links. 5 clubs I think it was and I remember being suprised at Cas over the past couple of years. Very good management.

Playing friday nights , have you seen where that stadium is , where are these extra 3,000 going to come from ?
You dont know how much your tickets are ? , dont forget the majority of Saints fans are used to standing down the sides , will they be happy to pay more to stand at the ends , or pay much more to sit down the side ?

| Warrington is £18 for terracing, £25 for seats. Salford was £20 terracing, £25 seating. Would expect both to go up next season, Salford in particular.

Definitely £18 for the West, not sure if you charged any extra for the South with it being along the side.

No they arent , spending nothing is our main competition , people sat in the pub watching free footy is our main competition , reducing the price will just mean we have less to spend than we have now , and we have nothing to spend now
You have no idea what our problems are , some are of our own making , some are not , some are down to bad management , some are down to just not having enough money to do the things we need to do
We might survive , or we might not , it is that bad , but we dont need you trying to be clever , when you clearly aren't trying to tell us where we went wrong , you wouldn't have a clue
