If you listen to some fans you do wonder how on earth we managed to hit 68 points last week without young Ryan?

You know what I think we have a more talented replacement in Ben Reynolds and I am excited about watching this youngster develop. The signs are he has got all the attributes to go far. He attacked the line well on Saturday and we have missed that. He is a few years younger than Ryan as well. The future looks bright.

Glad he's gone, shame it dragged on for so long though. Sounds like we got a decent bit of cash for him too so it is win-win as far as I'm concerned.

We wont miss him anywhere near as much as some fans are making out. Ridyard is our main man and always has been, Ben Reynolds looks the real deal and now Rangi is back in training our half back options are looking very strong even without Ryan.

I thought somebody put it perfectly last week on here (can't remember who it was).

If we play without Ryan, we probably wont win by as many.

If we play without Ridyard, we probably wont win.

Let's move on with the players who are 100% committed to Leigh Centurions.

I'm not into bagging Ryan brierley.
Ben Reynolds seems to be more of a classic scrum half who may be is what we need to drive a team forward.
Ryan scored lots of tries and is very talented, but perhaps a bit one dimensional and maybe that's part of what cost us in the pay offs...once SL teams worked out our attacking there were fewer other options.
This year we seem more balanced with a few more play makers around too.
That all said ryan has a new opportunity to grow. Could be good for him.

It takes a few weeks to radically change how you attack, we are now starting to play to a different structure that utilises the personnel we now have, throw in the genius that is chase and we will be a different proposition in the 8's this year

I have just heard news of an illegal approach on our young star player Ben Reynolds, Golborne Parkside & Atherton Dragons are thought to be at war for his signature.

Seriously, RB has gone now but we potentially have a future England International in young Ben Reynolds, & before the neigh sayers arrive, CHRIS HILL, don't say I didn't tell you so.

Sorry to see Brierley go but as someone said similarly above, we'll be probably playing with more options now.

Also the club should take great credit for bringing in the players they have recently.

He could have been a Leigh legend and all he needed to do was what he said he would, play this season as well as he has played & every Leigh fan would have wished him all the best if he chose to move on. Instead he's gone under a massive black cloud entirely of his own creation. Was a fantastic player for us on the pitch but it turns out constantly trying to undermine the club leaking info to the press & stabbed the club that made him the player he is in the back. No doubt having these discussions at the same time as saying how much he wanted to play for Leigh.

If there had been discussions then he is openly admitting to having illegal approaches. In other words he did not inform Leigh he had had discussions with other clubs.

The deal with Hudds was all above board. The deal he had agreed with Leeds (that never happened and definitely wasn't an illegal approach, honest!) maybe wasn't so straight forward...

Inappropriate comments to make in a public domain and he's making himself look more pathetic by the day. Have you ever known so much drama around one player and an average player at that, who owes Leigh a lot as far as I can see?

How many complete tackles did RB make in his time at Leigh and how many times did he take the defensive line on? I think the stats would be illuminating. Getting permanent game time in Super League could be hard for RB, unless Rowley is joining him with another big bag of cotton wool.

And before the comments roll in about the amazing memories and he's far from average, why has a top Super League club not signed this individual?

I wish Ryan every success in the future (unless he is playing against us) and thank him for all his years at the club.

This story broke at the wrong time for us (if there ever is actually a right time, these days) and whereas it was difficult seeing the club put through the ringer all the time I think it has focussed the club more both on and off the field and galvanised the squad.

Probably a blessing in disguise - hopefully a high return capital one too.

I'm losing more and more respect for this kid every time he opens his mouth lately. In my opinion, he's disrespecting every single person with true mental health issues by insinuating that he was suffering from depression and that the club did nothing to help him. He just had a bad couple of weeks for God's sake, of course he was going to feel a bit down - we all did.

Just shut up and play rugby Ryan, you have a lot to live up to and God help you if you think you've had a stressful time at Leigh - that will be nothing compared to the you'll have to endure if you don't produce at Huddersfield.

He really does need to grow up. Considering the club has such a good track record with player welfare it does look like he's having a bit of a strop. Worth noting that all his stress & upset only came about after he stabbed the club in the back. "Considering I'm the only available half back at the moment I want more money or I'm leaving." "We'll see what we can do." "Not quick enough! EVERYONE, SKY, LISTEN! I'M LEAVING!!!" What sort of response was he expecting? A champagne reception while fans carried him round the LSV on their shoulders cheering his name? The unpleasantness of his departure is entirely of his own doing, he made it that way.

As for us knowing he loves us to pieces his actions have made it quite clear he doesn't. It's all about money & his ego. Bye bye Ryan, you won't be greatly missed.
