Very hard game and I thought Dewsbury were very unfortunate not to win .
However our lads dug in and got the win .
Sometimes you have to just take the tackle and not try and score off every play , it's nearly cost us today .

Dews are a very Dour and Dogged side , they have given us 2 very hard games this season and are not a bad side , I expected a Leigh win , but it was closer than expected , Leigh just keep Rolling On , some nice touches today , for me Thackeray has a game for Dews , and their 50 fans were very vocal .As far as the League Leaders Trophy is concerned , Start the Bus .Charlie knows .It should be given to us at the Fev game 8th August .

I'll keep saying it but I truly hope we don't get the trophy presented if we are in a position to receive it at home to Fev. We should get it at our last home game against Workington and turn it into a carnival with the heritage celebrations. Plus I will be on holiday so would miss it but this isn't important

Definitely a get out of jail card used today. So many errors are coming up from trying passes that are risky to say the least, but I suppose people have been crying out for years for a team to play off the cuff. On another day Pownall's pass to Brierley sticks to his hands and he waltzes 70m under the posts, but I do wonder how many close games we're going to need as a reality check.

All that said, credit to Dewsbury who played some decent stuff, probably the best game I've seen Thackeray have in a LONG time as well.

I thought young Mr Cobb had a very good game today ,no complaints from me , though I very rarely criticise the Ref , well done Joe .

At 22 all and Liam Kay correctly sin binned I thought we had blown it.

Our lads always seem to score when we need too.



Agree about Joe Cobb he is a very good referee and should be a regular Super League ref soon.

Joe should not be allowed to ref Leigh games until he is much more experienced, it is not fair on either party. The game was slow and he made some controversial calls

But 17 gone and 4 more will guarantee top 2

I will wait to watch LCTV before I make final judgement on young Mr Cobb but I was not that impressed on fist viewing. Having said that I think the decisions were evens in the end.

All the best teams in any sport manage to pick up scruffy wins. We did it again today and our boys have shown time and again that they don't lie down for anyone.
In recent weeks though we seem to be making life so hard for ourselves by poor completion rates and coughing the ball up in threatening parts of the pitch - thus encouraging the opposition. This results in the need for heroics in defence and inspiration plays to win the game.
Perhaps a more conservative approach is needed against Sheffield next week, without forcing passes in dangerous areas, especially if we are winning the game.
Let's make no mistake, this is a fantastic season and if the standard has dropped a touch in recent weeks then we must look forward to the team clicking into gear again as the business end of the season comes into view.

Thought we let Dewsbury dictate how the game was played today, seemed to be happy to let them come to us, let them dictate the speed of the game. It was having Kay sent off with the scores level that was the kick up the backside we needed to start playing like we can and seize the game. It was a very lucky escape, could easily have sleepwalked into our 1st league defeat today, need to be better against Sheffield and certainly better away at Doncaster.

I have to say I thought young Cobb had a very good game all in all. I can not remember seeing a better refereeing performances down at LSV all seaon if I am honest.

Good game by both sides. Thought the ref picked up on the right things but maybe think there where a few to many in succession from them without 1 in the bin. They played a good game. In the end we nearly beat ourselves

I hope he does, no games without refs- but a local lad learning his trade shouldn't be thrown into his own clubs fixtures too soon imo

Good call 'Tel' but HEAT?? It was blurry freezing in the East Stand from now on its called SIBERIA, when I came round the perimeter of the pitch at full time I couldn't believe how warm it was, seriously I was wearing my fingerless gloves, but then again I'm getting soft in my old age.

Pleased to see on home turf Joe Cobb refereed this game better than some he's reffed this season. Young lad, learning all the time, is all you can ask. Fair play, who'd want to be a referee.

I too thought young Joe had a good game . It's harder when it's your own team as you tend to try not to look biased and end up giving the 50 /50 decisions the other way .
He kept control which has been something other refs haven't done , well done to Joe .

I always have a chuckle at these "50/50" decision comments, the are none of these decisions when you are reffing, you give what you see. The ref did OK, neither very good nor very bad.

50/50's always go against the team you support, that's called being a fan

Do you not think we dramatically improved our game in the last 10 min, scoring 2 trys with a man down? Do you not think up to that point with the scores level we'd been just matching Dewsbury? Maybe that was the tactic, keep it close, save your energy then score a few at the end; if so it worked, not a tactic I'd like to see too often though as it very nearly backfired.

This is a fantastic team and I think they will go all season undefeated, they've shown that even in close games when everything isn't always going their way (like yesterday & the week before up at Haven) they can still win.

Terry this is a bit Harsh on LS , he is entitled to his opinion ,Dews are a decent side , who knows what the outcome might have been at Dews if they hadn't of had a man sent off .

As for this season , I have said on a few occasions in my opinion we will lose a game this season



im not sure where , maybe Donny away , it wont be the end of the World though , I hope im wrong about us losing .I think what has happened at Fev will inspire the Fev team ,their game with Fax in a few weeks will determine 2nd spot , will we finish 1st?Can a Duck swim ?Charlie knows .
