Hi Atomic, you are right in that people should be careful what they say. In fact that is something you should sometimes take heed to. For facts I advise you to check the twitter feeds of both Leigh RL Retail and Bob Beswick who both promoted his stall attendance, there were also pictures of Bob training when they went to do some altitude training mid season. Most people know I rarely post things which are not fact especially with the purpose of trying to stir things up.

Enjoy looking for the facts which exist in public view and probably best not to get involved in something you don't know anything about. I certainly don't know all the facts, but the ones I know seem to go against what was posted a little earlier in this thread.

Have you never thought that it might just have been part of his contract? And the same with Liam too. You can be suspended but still have to carry out required appearances and training sessions etc. This is not an unusual situation if the relationship between players and clubs break down - and it's been going on for donkeys years, just ask Alex Murphy what happened to him at St Helens before he came to Leigh. They suspended him and banned him from training with any of the team but he was still required to go and train daily on his own. It was the club being awkward you see - that's what some clubs do when they have a disagreement with a player.

So are you saying that what I wrote in my previous post doesn't happen today? (I would also include smilies if you think it doesn't). Honestly it does; it's legal and it's not that unusual - just ask any rugby player you know.

Don't presume anything. I'm a Leigh fan and always have been. I haven't been to a game for more than a year because of health reasons so does that make me any less of a fan? Maybe so.

Employment Law is never quite as cut and dried as people think and often things only become clear once someone has actually gone to an employment tribunal, but as most cases get settled out of court people think such and such must be right because they paid up, when often it’s just easier to pay them off and get shut. Allardyce as just walked away with an alleged £1 million from his employer did his employer do anything wrong or need to pay anything?

It is quite feasible that BB contracted duties not only included playing but community and commercial work, if he has been disciplined by the club for perhaps let’s say playing the wrong tunes in the changing rooms, then they could say we are suspending you from that aspect of your duties however you will continue to work for the company in the other roles and are free to train elsewhere or on your own. Even if he wasn’t contracted to do other duties the company could still put him on other duties if they feel he is unable to fulfil his original duties, in the same way as a company who employs a delivery driver but he then gets band or ill health stops him from driving they could offer he a role in packing, rather than sack him for not fulfilling his contracted duties, he could of course if he didn’t want to do those duties resign, but most take up the new role at least until they find alternative employment.

& sometimes an employer or organisation do not want their dirty linen aired in public, especially if they are morally or in fact just plain corrupt.
I have known a guy who walked away with exactly what he wanted, given that he could have taken several managers diwn with him & exposed the organisations dirty tactics.
