| It was exciting due to the closeness of the score, it would have been much less so without the last score.

Pretty much agree with this, exciting game indeed, but both teams way, way off the mark in terms of competing with SL teams. Saw Wakey as a weakness last season and I reckon we blew a big chance there through inexperience of the system, if Leeds are the weakest SL team then we have a problem - even more so when some of their strike players come back for the middle 8's

So my use of the word great makes you question what I was watching.
I watched a close hard fought game, with 8 tries, several lead changes (two in the last 5 mins), few penalties, and a last gasp win by my team, that went from one end to the other in the drive to get there as the clock was almost done. That to me is a "Great Game and a Great Win" if you are a Leyther.

| I can't believe nobody has mentioned Ben Reynolds appalling short kicking game, which usually either went straight to a Bradford player or created a breakaway try scoring opportunity for the opposition. Ironically, we won the game off a kick, but that came from Drinkwater. If these 2 are to be the half backs again please let Josh take over the kicks near the opposition line. Contrast this to the Bradfor kicking close to the line which invariably seemed to cause havoc, and seemed to be the only way they would score.

Reynolds did put in a few bad ones, and a quick watch of Neil Jukes on LCTV will show that he probably agrees with you. Given another week or two of games and/or practice will hopefully sort this out (by doing exactly as you suggest) working attacking moves based off Drinkwater's kicking.
Reynolds though is still learning and getting better week by week.
If Riddy is out for a few weeks as Neil Jukes also mentions, it may work out to be a perfect chance to get Reynolds and Drinkwater plenty of time on the field together, before the middle 8's.

| I have to say I watched three games on Saturday and kicking was a problem in them all. Bradford had problems also in our game. We can't just have Josh kicking everything as he will just get smashed and that's our territory game gone. I think Ben will be ok.

| Reynolds has been the surprise package of the Championship this year.
Who could have predicted in February when he was out on loan due to being behind Chase and Brierley that he would now be a 1st team regular picking up multiple MoM awards and tearing teams to shreds.
A great story for a great young player.
Ridiculous hair cut though!

| Impo we have a lot to work on around the ruck area, at the game I felt we were not set when Bradford played the ball, we were taken back a good 12 plus yards most plays and seemed determined to get off very quick to avoid penaltys, this is where Bradford got yards and space, and try's -thank you LCTV

| I'd go for Ridyard and Drinkwater being the halfback partnership to give Leigh the best chance of reaching The Promised Land. In just 2 games you can see the difference between Drinkwater and Reynolds with regards experience, skills and innate rugby brain. DB is making some superb signings on the player and coaching front at present and it was all doom and gloom when Rowley quit. The next few months should produce some of the best experiences for Leigh Centurions for a long time... strap yourself in!

| Just watched the game again for the third time. I know I am biased but I thought the offload for Bull's first try was forward and the second one was offside.
All our tries were legitimate of course.

First one was forward but came off Liam Kay, no issue with that one.
Their second try was clearly a good meter off side though. No excuse for the VR missing that. A shocking decision that thankfully didn't (quite) cost us a big match!

Double movement for one of their tries as well

| Why are we dwelling on decisions that were made? Let's just remember this as an absolute classic!
We came away with two points and feeling great knowing the boys didn't give up. Micky himself said we'd have lost that game last year, but it shows how far we've come since last year. We seem to know how to win games ugly now, and that's all down to the coaching staff and the experience we have in our side.
I'm not saying for a moment the middle 8's will be easier than last year, but we seem to have much more composure in the bigger games than we did last year. We seem to have a touch of class in our halves that can change the game in an instant and I don't think anyone has said what a great acquisition Drinkwater is. He looks class.

As you say we can now win games playing ugly rugby, and at the end of the day its victories we will need to progress in the play offs.Drinkwaters kicking game will be a great addition to our attacking options

| Having watched 5 of the 6 games at weekend - the biggest plus for me was the pace/speed of ruck that ourselves and Bradford were able to play at. All the other games were much slower (I did not see the London v Eagles game) - Batley were very guilty of slowing down the game and Fev could not live with Halifax's ruck speed. We will need to play at the same pace when we play them in the second half of the season.
Agree it was great to see other teams taking goal line drop outs as a result of the kicking game of Drinwater.

| How good is Drinkwater going to become? the lad has only been for two weeks after arriving from Oz !
I do think he should be Scrum Half with Riddy at stand off though, Ben will be great back up plus, he can watch Josh & Riddy and learn from their experienced plays! Looking good at halfback now full marks to DB & NJ

| Winning a close game in the last few minutes always seems a great result, but I still left feeling we could do better, we were poor around the PTB, we let them up far too quickly although I think that’s because we were concentrating on not giving away penalties, this did allow them to make easy yards up the middle, where I had expected us to be dominant. I haven’t watched it back yet but I think in most instances we only committed two in the tackle.
Drinkwater is settling in very well and early showings indicate he could turn out to be a great addition.
Great result, which hopefully baring any disaster which DB seems determined to avoid, should see us secure in the top two.
