| I think is a good one mate can this be done with the current season ticket system?
My ideas would be
Leigh Season ticket holders - #fetchbob for a £10
Leigh Season ticket holders - 1 free child ticket per game (each additional child £2)
Leigh walk up fan - buy 1 full price ticket get 2nd #fetchbob for £10
Leigh walk up fan - 1 free child ticket per adult if required (each additional child £2)
Family ticket - (2 adults + 2 Children) - £25 any stand (each additional child £2)
Away Fans - £16 if pre purchased £18 walk up (end of)
ST holders from other clubs - buy 1 full price ticket get 2nd #fetchbob for £10
ST holders from other clubs - 1 free child ticket per adult if required (each additional child £2)

| I like your way of enticing people to drag people along with them. I'd do £20 for the family ticket, but all 4 people must be present to get the deal.
With my 50% ST, i'd just sell it at an average of £11/£13 per game. So £110 for a 10 game ticket etc. Something in this ball park. I don't know the exact discounts on ST's as i'm a Touchdown Club member.

| we need to get people hooked on Leigh the people we bring for £10 this season will be next years season ticket holders / regular fans (these are the people we need to target not other clubs fans)
We are overpriced at the moment for what we are and the product we are selling.
You can walk up and pay on the day to watch Wigan in superleague and sit down for £19 thats only £1 more than Leigh. if you buy a remaining game season ticket its £17.80 per game 20p cheaper than Leigh.
Warrington is another example £18.50 adult walk up fan
Unless you are a die hard Leigh fan its no wonder people will ditract to local superleague clubs as the product to cost ratio at the moment is defo in their favour. Both above examples are in modern stadia such as ours.
Our pricing needs and offers need to be looked at before its to late!

| You shouldnt discount match day tickets for Leigh fans IMO. If you offer a ST holder the option to bring a mate for £10 then ill be going into the ground with Leyther Matt, my brother could go with my dad and the club loose out on money
Offer the £10 price for ST holders of SL and other championship clubs, we then attract people that wouldnt necessarily spend £16 on leigh when they already have to fork out for their clubs.
To see if the offer we are offering is working take down the details of the people who come and what club they support.

Yeah, it appears that LeighLIfe posted it too early as well.
The original was, apparently, removed because of a 'misunderstanding'.
Leigh Centurions have decided to emulate the excellent initiative of Featherstone Rovers and offer season ticket holders of all Super League, Championship, and Championship One clubs, discounted admission to their home games at Leigh Sports Village.
On production of your season ticket, at the ticket office, you will be able to purchase an adult ticket for £10, (normal match day price £16 and £1icon_cool.gif or a concession ticket for £6. (normal match day price £8 and £9)You will also be able to bring a child free.
There will also be ample free on-site parking at the Leigh Sports Village site.
This offer will commence with the visit of Batley Bulldogs, on Thursday 8th March.

| Ste,
Roughly how may people do you think are going to come from other clubs? (not including the away team)
Roughly how many extra fans from the away team will now decide to come because they can get in for £10?
How much will the club lose on away fans that would of come anyway and paid £18
We must of done some rough estimates / business cases for such a radical and inovative idea?

I think we can attract a few, too the bigger games last year a few wigan and wire fans came, even a smoggie came down.
To attract the fans we do need to advertise it, ask the bigger clubs we have good partnership with too put it on their site for us or email radio's to advert it
99% of the time theres no more than a coach load of away fans. Fev/Fax will be the only travelling support this year.
i think its great were trying out some new ideas, if it falls flat on its then we'll try something new.

| Also ste if you got in for £10 a game buy going with Matt x 12 home games thats £120 about the same as i would charge for an adult season ticket to watch Leigh.
We need to incentivise the Leigh public not away fans or ST holders from other clubs (they will never ever be regular Leigh supporters)
Away supporters in this division especially now only swinton are within a 50 mile radius will not travel to Leigh in any more numbers because we charge them only £10 (my opinion)
We should sit all away fans in one block in the west stand closest to south stand and charge £16
This is what widnes do?

Congratulations to all involved in this brainwave which will without doubt reduce revenues coming into the club at a time they need maximising/increasing. Then just for a double whammy lets alienate as many Leigh fans as possible by charging opposition fans less than they pay to support their own team which is the life blood of the club.
Hope somebody will be able to calculate how much this costs the club when the inevitable failure of it as an idea comes to fruition. More so get some people involved who actually have some ability in business and see this as being a nonsensical idea.

you aint answered my questions mate,

Roughly how many extra fans from the away team will now decide to come because they can get in for £10?
How much will the club lose on away fans that would of come anyway and paid £18
This should answer if this exersise is a) profitable b) worthwile disgruntiling our ST holders/walkup fans
i look forward to your response
p.s not being negative just interested in your reasoning that this is the way forward
Im all up for ideas as long as they the right ones and have a valid business case and have been thought through not just implamented because "another club has done it so it must be good"

| I hate the fact that i may be coming across as negative this is not the case i can assure you i have always pushed for inovation and ideas to move Leigh forward and also brought fundraising ideas to the club.
However if you are backing this idea i urge you to come forward and explain how this is going to increase our supporter base long term and make us money?

i have no idea how many fans will turn up, thats why i said we should take details and put which club they support.
£120 is too cheap, the problem we had last year was charging £110. Im at work btw so its gonna take me a while to respond

| My Answers would be for batley game
Roughly how may people do you think are going to come from other clubs? (not including the away team)
20 at the very most = +£200
Roughly how many extra fans from the away team will now decide to come because they can get in for £10?
10 if that = +£100
How much will the club lose on away fans that would of come anyway and paid £18
i would estimate 80% of batley fans that travel will be ST holders so based on 100 fans (including the 10 extra because of £10)coming to the game 80 will get in for £10. so thats 80 x £10 + 20 x £18 = +£1160
Total income from away and other clubs ST holders = £1360 (new initiative)
Total income from away team as it was before no changes = £1800
So by my reasoning and assumptions we stand to lose on Thursday £440
And disgruntal a lot of home supporters who have paid £18 and season ticket holders who pay around £13 per game
Again just my opinions but i bet im not far off

nobody has any idea how many fans will turn up you just have to make an educated guess as with most business cases.
I cant see how anyone can say its a good idea or not if they have not gone through the figures required in order for this to be a success and also risk involved.
If we were in dragons den i would of been "out" a long time ago
im still waiting for anyone to come up with any reasoning/figures/estimates that says this is a good idea/the way forward!

| why is £120 to cheap for a ST and £12 to walk up and Pay at these prices im sure we could attract 2500 a game
make away fans pay £15 and in there own block
average of £10 per person attending (consessions included) x £2500 = £25,000 a game
£25,000 x 12 home games = £300,000
£50,000 from NRC and CC games (based on 3 matches)
£90,000 from RFL
£440,000 a season (arnt we operating on less than £300,000 this season?)
So by my reasoning that leaves a £140k contingency in my budget plus we could also go further in NRC or CC and increase this

| sorry forgot to knock off LSV costs and add in sponsorship / coperate etc
£350,000 - 15% LSV cost = £297,500
£297,500 - ticket sales
£20,000 - sponsorship?
£30,000 - corperate?
£90,000 - RFL
£437,500 - Total?
Based on 2000 speccies my totals are :-
£204,000 ticket sales - LSV costs at 15%
£20,000 - sponsorship?
£30,000 - corperate?
£90,000 - RFL
£344,000 which leaves 44k contingency based on less than 300k budget

Featherstone have done this, to encourage MORE people to watch the great rugby they are playing. They assume that more people will increase their gates (hopefully to the minimum SL appliaction level) and it will bring MORE money into the club.
We, on the other hand have done this to encourage LESS people into the ground and REDUCE our income.
Are Featherstone fans moaning about their club's identical offer?
Also, you may be doing a dis-service to some of the SUCCESSFUL business people who are pushing this initiative.

| Alan just because fev fans are not moaning does not mean this is a good idea! the same as just because fev are doing it does not make it a good idea?
I want to understand why people think it is and how they see this benifiting the club going forward. hopefully this will make me see the light because i am really struggling at the moment.
Do you think its a good idea? If so as i said to ste have you been through the figures of what would be required to make this a success?
I would be concerned if the PSG were promoting something without understanding the implications of what was required to make this work.
Im not knocking anyones efforts far from it but for any business / ideas to work they need to be challanged and appropriate answers be given to justify the business case.
have you seen the proposal for this idea Alan are you aware of the estimated figures / revenue streams this will create?

On the back of a disappointing uptake on season tickets and Touchdown memberships, this will give our own supporters even less reason to attend as they are being asked to pay more than the visiting supporters. We've already covered on this forum how short sighted the moving to Friday night has been in terms of revenue up front for the club, so dishing out another kick in the teeth before the league season has even started is frankly mind blowing.
God knows whether the board or the PSG has pushed this through, but the lack of thought with this really makes me wonder if we are on a mission to self destruct. Anybody with any business brain coupled with how things are run at the club knows that unlike Featherstone we get no share of any upsell in the ground, ie beer, food etc, that we have to pay LSV a share of the ticket revenue and VAT at 20% on each ticket - do the maths on how much per ticket the club will end up with and the answer is next to nothing. That coupled with the naive assumption more fans of the visiting team will attend than would be if we had not altered the admission price, is brain dead.
Some people need to take off their everything being done is brilliant blinkers and wake up to the simple fact that this will cost the club money, whilst possibly bailing out the LSV by increasing their revenue streams via the kiosks.
