John Kidd is the Chairman of Swinton , he's one of the nicest blokes you could care to meet , he isn't massively rich , and he only has Swinton and returning Swinton to Swinton as an aim , he has no interest in any other club , how he does it , well I don't know , but I hope he is successful

| Just remember that although things may not be coming from the club it doesn't mean nothing is happening, rather these things take time. Players are not the only ones affected.
There are Championship briefings involving board members of each club currently taking place and there is set to be an announcement on the future of the Championships next week too.. A press briefing on that is out in due course.

Hopefully the new championship will guarantee more than 13 fixtures at home in 2012. Which business only opens 13 weeks a year ?? What are you supposed to do the other 39 weeks?
Secondly have the club really knocked on every businessmans door to seek investment or are we hell bent on running the club as a business with fans investment. If it's the latter welcome to the world of Rochdale, no ambition to mix it with the elite.

| Well my point is that prior to AT coming on board, there was an open fans meeting held in the MM Bar during October 2006, discussing a financial deficit and the clubs sorry state of affairs. We had no coach, no team, no CEO. We were all encouraged to help the club out by buying a season ticket, joining the lottery and increasing our LISA contributions as otherwise the future was looking very bleak, simply put.
The meeting was chaired from the clubs perspective by Mr Coffey and Mr Freer.
Roll on to October 2011, and what have the club achieved under the present incumbernts? We all know the answer....
So what are the barriers to finding new 'investment'?
I do wonder why Mr Ainscough was interested enough to come along to 'a few meetings' as Mr Freer informed us at the fans forum he did, but then ultimately decided that 'investing' into Leigh RL is not suitable for his circumstances right now.

It doesn't , we are a ' luxury item ' , people dont ' Have ' to buy us , we are not a loaf of bread or a tin of beans
So why do people spend stupid amounts of money buying things they dont need ? they are convinced by advertising/marketing/sampling that they want it
We havent done any ' marketing/advertising/sampling for years , and until we do we will continue to struggle , as I put on this or another thread , Castleford are the model we need to emulate , they are a town of similar size to ourselves with a history of similar industry , they have built up a ' Brand ' that their population have bought in to , thats why they are where they are , and why we are where we are

My avatar is a case in point. Irn-Bru is the number one grocery brand in Scotland.
Why do you think they spend £millions advertising all over Scotland every year ?
The answer is not only to remain number one grocery brand but to also remain as number one selling soft drink year on year in an extremely competitive market.

Quite possibly the last actual advertising we did was in 2005/6 when I converted one of my trailers to take signage and I had Lee Hansen dragging it around Leigh/Atherton/Tldesley in one of my vans
Our performance with regards ' marketing ' ourselves has been pathetic for , well as long as we have been a RL club
But as I have pointed out in the past , that part of a sports business isn't ' Sexy ' , is it ?

In truth nothing , because we have just made exactly the same mistakes as all the previous administrations
ie , Believing that a winning team [ or a shiny new stadium will result in an increase in support
