Looks like no Nanyn, hope you have a good goalkicker, the Batley kicker does not miss....and looking back on your win at home....the scrum half who caused you all your problems and kicked you to death was not even playing that game........i think at home you may just have the edge but im sure your players are not as arrogant as you are. One last point.....you are hell bent on ticking the box....why ? do you think you will get a franchise ? don't waste your energy dreaming about it widnes are already guaranteed and as they say.....dare to dream !!

things that would be needed.......
a venue not sure if they would need a specific licence or not.

laptop (poss connected to tv so all players can see it) to display the timer for the blinds (heard there are some great ones on tinterweb for free)

depending on size of the tables 8 / 10 players per table you would need 1 set of chips & cards per table (all chips sets to be the same)
and thats it oooo yea dealer button and card shoe per table.

then all thats needed is to set out the tourney.....
I,e
starting stack of say 2,000 per player
buy in+fee say keep it in a rugby theme £13 buy in goes towards the pool + fee £4 goes to L.I.S.A = £17
40 players = £520 prize pool and £160 L.I.S.A
pay positions out 1st place to 5th (most of the timer software has this option built in so im told)
tournamet lenght 3 1/2 hs to last 5 hands call
10 min blind levels
k,o time say 8pm run 8 till 9 .... 15 min break .... 9:15 till 10:15 .....15 min break..... 10:30 till 11:30 if anyone is still in after the 11:30 time out ... the dealer announces last 5 hands. if the tourney still hasnt reached a conclusion then its just a simple chipcount most chips gets 1st

could even run a mini league if sponsored? say 5 wks 1 or 2 games a wk top 10 or 20 in the leaderboard goes to a playoff grandfinal (kinda sticking to the rugby theme) 1 game per wk over 5 wks with an average of 40 players would net £800 in fee's for L.I.S.A not taking into account the fee's from the side tables

and there is nothing stopping the other players (late commers / people who get knocked out of the main comp early or people quite new to the game who dont want to risk playing bigger stakes / longer games) playing side games.
say 10 players £12 buy in £10 to the pool + £2 fee (or £5 +£1)
stop watch for the timer
pay 1st £50 (£25)
2nd £30 (£15)
3rd £20 (£10)
£2x10 fee =£20 to L.I.S.A

just a rough guide ive prob got some bits wrong and get pulled up on spelling mistakes and grammer but hey ho there you go.

The poker idea is a great one but not very clued up on the organising side, however if someone was to do all that side, Id find us a venue and sort out tickets etc.

If only! Unfortunatley we are only allowed to help our SL friends by having FOUR DC players. Now, obviously we would love to keep more SL fringe players match fit for their parent clubs, but rules are rules!

Some of the expected scores quoted on here against a well drilled, big Batley side are quite suprising and have a bit of the 'Calland' attitude of last season about them, and look what happened to him....left with egg on his face.
I have seen you twice and your playing well and have stayed injury free, but lets not forget you got turned over by York as well, when you obviously thought you just had to get on the coach to win. I certainly would not have the same attitude with Batley.
Make no mistake Batley are no mugs, they should be at full strength apart from the injured fromer Leeds scrum half Moore but have an able replacement in Giants Dual registered player Kyle Wood. Not sure if thre other Dual Reg player will make it Josh Griffin, who is a monster of a centre and will give Nanyn sleepless nights if he plays.
Should be a good game though and if both sides play to their potential it could be a close one....[/size

I heard Griffins debut was a little low key, having been out for a month but I also heard Nanyn got a bit bashed up by Walton and limped off when it got a bit rough. Dont spout off about Nanyn to me mate he has proved he does not like it at SL level.

Non relegation League ??? That must also apply to the Championship doesnt it ? If memory serves me right a certain club who should have been relegated from that league were'nt due to another club going in admin and one also beaten by York !!

Normally I'm quite gracious in victory and like to be a good winner etc but to be honest the comments some of your supporters have put on here this week regarding this game have been beyond arrogant. I hope some of you eat your words, not all of you because there are some great Leigh fans. But unlike Sunday, I hope you give us the credit we deserve and rely less on your dual registered players. Im ashamed to be a Leigh fan not because of the team weve overachieved this season but our fans are a disgrace!!!

The majority were intent on blaming the said Ref even before a ball was kicked and he wasnt great but was no different for either side it was Batleys superior disapline that won them the penalty count (if indeed they did not seen any stats).

We have a mentality in leigh of swagering round town and thinking were better than we are and this wasnt apparent early doors this season largly due to the very poor season last year but its back and we simply never matched Batleys desire or enthusiasm from the first play.

Not good enough on the night and its slowly getting worse over the last few weeks with a lack of imagination and poor last tackle options all to familiar to last season.

Long run in now with potential heavy beatings at Featherstone, Widnes and Barrow to come for my money just a good job we got the points early!!!!
