Correct. The National speed limit signs used to go as far up as Astley then change to 60, and then 50 after the M60 junction, but a couple of years ago they extended the 60 stretch to include Leigh & Lowton. |

I always thought a dual carriageway was 60
O/T But whilst this is the nearest to a Driving thread.
Is it now a legal requirement to have a photo/card type licence? |

the pie eaters changed the speed limit.
The East Lancs returns to 70mph at the Golborne & Haydock boundary.

That said, the quality of the road isn't as bad before the Haydock boundary - get in to the 70mph section (or maybe it's just before and therefore still under WMBC?) and the road is literally falling to bits. |

I've always done sixty to be on the safe side... and there are camera's on some of the traffice lights which is where this guy must have been caught.

Nope there are speed cameras on the East Lancs. There's one as you come off onto AtherLeigh Way as it's pained yellow on the back.
Most of them are further up the Lancs past Astley and into Manchester though.

I always thought that was a signal camera rather than a speed camera, to be honest. |
