Personally i thought it was decent gate ,im not sure how many fans Workt brought with them , id say between 150-200 , has the so-called twinning made any difference , to me no , maybe we are missing a few fans , the club may miss this , not sure i do ,for me a Fans love for his team is Unconditional .
I still think we can finish in second place in the League , our next league game is Fax away , that will be a good yardstick to where we are .

I thought there were about 50 fans from Workington.

Crowd was 1446 and it was freezing cold like every other home game we have had this season.

Saw more than 50 before the game! One of the bigger away supports, fair play to them.

I think you'd normally say 1,400 is a poor gate for any bank holiday fixture but looking at RL's attendances right across the board this season and all the other factors at Leigh yesterday it doesn't look too bad.

I'm sure on a previous thread it was mentioned that 1,800 was the 'break even' point, is that correct or is that last years figure as more games of 1,200 upwards would surely give the club the overall required numbers with the extra fixtures this season ?

The club have budgeted for an average home crowd of 1750 for ALL this seasons games.

An average of say 1400 means the club has a deficit of about £3500 a game.

Unless our crowds increase then we are in serious trouble in terms of survival.

I was hoping it would have been more realistic as even though 1,750 isn't a huge gate I'd say at this level it looks a bit ambitious considering the league was extended ensuring a lot of results will be known before a balls kicked in anger and the likelyhood that our big games was always going to end up shifted to Thursdays.
With a bit of luck the visit of Featherstone can attract a few in to get the average up around the break even point.

Whats in the budget for runs in the NRC and challenge cup??

You lads on the wrong side of the Pennines however don't seem to travel in numbers judging by crowds for Fax yesterday and Fev at York last week.

Swinton seem to be the best followed club when they are playing us at the LSV.

Fans must be turning soft if it's too cold! Have they forgotten we used to play over the winter?

We are getting soft. Saturday before Easter a fellow Leyther and myself met in Wigan to cheer Widnes on. When we got there it was so bloody cold we decided to watch it in a pub near the Railway Station.

Now we both would never miss a Leigh game but there were lots of Wigan supporters in their team shirts who did the same.

I think the football really affected the attendance, even a 3pm kick off would have avoided the Man Utd game.

Got to be aiming to get 2k in for the Batley game.

Your right we should be aiming for 2,000 but Who should be doing the aiming?

I do not think the club have a policy as such on increasing gates IMO and if they do have I apologise.

Its really up to Me,You and all the others on here to do the aiming for them and get the word out about how good our team is and so fetch a few 'Bobs' with us.

That was what Trevor said or words to that effect when he arrived to collect the fans cheque the other week.
