Chris Lunt - young, dynamic around the ruck
Dave Houghton - I rated this lad at prop but hasn't got anywhere near a first team jumper for 18 months. Worth a punt though
Danny Hulme - as a 6 or 9. Too shaky at FB currently for me.

Wouldn't take anyone else but can see Vark possibly fitting the mould as listed on here. Hope he plays with more fire than was seen vs Fev though.

when you look at that list and the ages of the players you need to ask the question....if they've all been released whats the point of devoloping youth systems outside of SL.

To get a tick in the box for a Superleague licence. You can't knock Steve O'Connor. He had a meeting with Little Dick and The Fat Controller after they got shafted last time and asked "What do you want me to do to get a Licence?" They said "Look make the licencing system look legitimate and achievable and we will keep you and your millions quiet for three years".

Widnes letting all these young players go has really dissapointed me.

I havent seen Varks all week ,he took a knock against Fev , so that may be why , but i do know he would love to come to Leigh ,there is no fitter Lad ,he would be a good addition to Squad , is big ,fast ,and can score tries .

All that lot would be good additions to our club. Not quite sure about Varks after watching a few videos. Can be easilly wound up.

Richard has now found some agression in his game , there is nothing wrong with that , he wont be pushed around by anyone .

To balance the argument you have to look at the players that we have signed
Danny Craven, Tom Gilmore, Danny Craven, Jack Owens, Ant Mullally and Grant Gore.
There are some players that just aren't going to cut the mustard and there are those that the coaching team at all levels have every confidence will. The players highlighted are supposed to be very talented lads indeed.
If these 6 players go on to make it then that isn't a bad return from where I'm standing. Even 3 - 4 in one year isn't a bad job and worth the money.
Plus the club have helped to develop a number of other good Championship level players that I'm sure will go on to do good things Grady, Houghton, Lunt etc.. so the system is working.


By the way, Hulme could be a really decent bet for you guys

It's just that we are the at the end of so much bullcrap that it gets frustrating sometimes. People just want a pop without wanting to know the facts.

IMO youv'e cleared the facts up,if the young players that you've kept on make it in Sl then the systems you have in place have worked, and it proves to me that we all need an excellent youth setup to better our club.

Not sure what difference that makes? He is a product of our youth set up, is contracted to the club. Signed up as a youngster and played for the academy sides up until this year. Superb opportunity for the lad.
