Which is the same Mick Nanyn that played for Widnes. Rugby League is about scoring points and Nanyn scores them for fun. He makes any team at this level stronger in my opinion.

There are plenty of other 'slow' Centres around this division that don't score 1/4 of Mick's tries... saying that their are plenty faster ones that don't either... swap you for Gardner / Varkulis?

True. Although Riddy would have done ok kicking next season without Mick we would of missed some of his goal kicking & his kicks offs are excellent too

Did we really want him? I think Basil would of preferred to bring someone else in, ie Littler but maybe things haven't gone to plan. Yes he's an excellent goal kicker and deadly from 10 yards but his in ability to defend and pass to his winger is a real downside to his game. Lets hope he's improving on it in pre-season.

if i remember correctly Littler normally plays on the right side of attack and even without him we'd need at least 1 more centre plus cover

Glad we are keeping the Human Bowling ball ,hes good for a few points again,i know some dont like him,but he can score points,and Points make Prizes.

What people seem to be overlooking is that if Nanyn leaves you have to replace him with someone better who is also prepared to play for the wages Leigh can afford. It seems to me that Leigh have taken the time to have a look and decided he is the least worst option. Mick has taken the time to see what other offers he can get and also decided that Leigh are the least worst option for him.

Its a pretty cold calculation on both sides - but that is how you have to approach it professionally. I think personally its the right decision.

The way i see this is he's not been able to find a better deal anywhere else, I don't Basil wanted to retain, you only need to read what he's said, IMO i think we would have been a better team next year without, his ball handling is suspect as is Jimmy Taylors which people overpool because it's Jimmy Taylor, I wouldn't even say Nanyns lethal from 10 yards. He's a goal kicking horse, that's all he is.

I disagree about JT. His defence is lethal and everytime he passes we score or break. Bit harsh there Tom.

I'm glad Big Mick is stopping too, where else in the Championship can you find a player that will virtually guarantee 250 points a season?

If Leigh didn't want to keep him they wouldn't of offered him a new deal full stop surely?

Think about it if he could defend top notch and set up loads as well he'd be a SL player at the very least if not better! Your never going to get the finished article in the Championship (at least for more than a year) so you look for the best at certain aspects and for me Mick ticks more than a few boxes in that sense!

Happy to see Mick back with us , now it needs some targets to be set , and him to work hard to meet them , if he does then another 2 year deal to be put on the table , he is a freak [ in the nicest way of a centre , get him fit and firing and he can destroy teams almost singlehanded

People cannot knock the resigning of Mick Nanyn. We need to use him more nearer the try line.

Rarely gets injured and scores points. Just needs a bit of fitness and confidence and he's a match winner, no doubt about it.
