I've never liked Rowley as a coach, I don't think the style of play is sustainable against the bigger teams...... it looks brilliant to the eye, but does it get you results? Last season showed, no!

Against Batley and Dewsbury we look like world beaters, play a half decent team like Hull KR for example and we'll lose everyday of the week.

I feel we need a coach who plays more of a simple possession game, like a Shaun Wane, Karl Harrison etc...

No mate it doesn't, Leeds away in challenge cup in 2014, beat Salford and Wakefield in the cup last season, and only lost away to Warrington in the challenge cup by about 10 points. Are you really a Leigh fan ?
We don't always look like 'world beaters' against Dewsbury, they give us one helluva game, most times we play them !!!!!

We lost to Leeds and Wire, we beat Wakefield and Salford teams who were plagued by injuries, and we beat part time Championship teams.....

We played Hull KR and died of death, as we did against every other team in the middle 8s! I think a lot of Leigh fans are disillusion, we've achieved nothing under Rowley!

Having fancy players like Moimoi and Tonga is all well and good, but we've achieved nothing..... lets hope we can turn this year round and go up!

I understand Rowley was forced out having missed the chance to sign Mathers.

What has surprised me about this is Rowls said he took a lot of positives after our friendly at Wire and now 3 days later we hear this.

PR wasn't my biggest fan regarding RL tactics, but is an individual that deserves respect (I've spoken to him a couple of times, but he won't remember me!). He was a cracking player for Fax.

Could RM be tempted to flip to Leigh? Maybe, and tbh I think he'd give you the best chance of at least a "million pound" game at the end of the season. However, I think (hope!?) that RM (as an ex-Fax player) has unfinished business with Fax...

I received the awful news today while at work from her indoors, to say I was, still am shocked to the core would be putting it lightly.

Everything Leigh Centurions have become as a Club/Team has come about by the hard work & guile of both Paul & Derek.
Paul especially has ushered in a new era of exciting, flowing & attack minded Rugby League that has been
the catalyst to our success over the last few seasons, turning this Great & Proud Club from near do well's to
a Super League Club in waiting.

TV broadcasters wanted Leigh games on the schedule, fans flocked back to the LSV for a taste of the exciting brand of RL rarely seen in the modern game.

Is all of this now lost ?
Who will be the next Coach of this fine Leigh Centurions Team ?
If I feel very unsettled by this news then how unsettled are the players ?

I suppose all will unfold in the coming weeks but I for one am very saddened by Pauls resignation.

I live in hope that it is just a spat between DB & PR & that any differences can be worked out for a quick return for Paul.

If however it is something much more personal then I
wish Paul all the very best with whatever issues he faces & thank him for 2 of the very best years of following Leigh I have ever had.

Sorry to blow your argument away, but when you played Wakefield at Bellevue we had a full strength side out, and indeed only a couple missing in the middle 8s' at Leigh.

Players wanted to play for paul rowley and enjoyed doing so which showed in the manner that all the players present themselves. Just hope that not too much changes or we could see a mass exodus and the fev scenario from a couple of years ago

The Rowley news came as a huge shock, he was in my view Mr Leigh.

At Salford we had a very similar situation where an extremely enthusiastic owner couldn't help but get involved in matters he was absolutely clueless about. I think some of these owners think just because they've done OK in business that they're better qualified to call all the shots. It's an ego trip for them and they can't help but befriend/socialise with the bigger named players. The problem is they become too approachable and an owners ear can be extremely disruptive to what a coach is working hard to achieve.


Fortunately for us it seems the penny has eventually dropped with Dr Koukash after leaning a very hard lesson.
