| I can't see it being any thing like £15-20 million with the LSV tumbleweed complex making a fraction of what the council expected , I can see them wanting to wash they're hands of the White Elephant .

| Councils will sell a losing operation for peanuts.
The tram system in Sheffield was built with tax payers money, then after a few years of horrific loses it was sold to Stagecoach for £1.15m.
To put that in perspective, the trams alone cost £3.5m each to build.
I would expect Wigoon Council to be onlt too glad to see the back of the LSV

You underestimate Leythers - most are fortunate to have either been to Harvard Business School or Manc. Road (Bedford High to the young ones) mate - both equally good schools.
IMO I don't see any harm in discussing issues - seem to recall Mr Barton inviting 'ideas' from those with some / any form of acumen - of which there are many who are true fans of LRLC!

Wouldn't it also stop us applying for SL for the 2015 season which would mean that the next time we could be in SL would be 2018!!!

Possibly , although the SL clubs are playing to different rules on this , and SL applications should be the least of our worries ATM , IMO

It would cost us a further =#FF0000NINE points deduction, as Lynda has stated, =#FF0000THIS season. I think that would put paid to any play-off chances this season - and when you consider the prize money at stake, for winning the GF (should we be so lucky) it's not a move that should be taken lightly!

| As we were apparently left debt free at the time AT withdrew, whats with all this talk of administration, we can't be owing that much yet. Why people want to blow things out of proportion and cause even more panic is beyond me........unless they think they can get support for there own ends from the panickers.

Haven't WMBC just spent millions on a civils project to get the redundant colliery at plank lane ready for up to 2000 houses?

The best thing about the houses they proposed to build was they were specified as ' Eco ' houses , ie no car parking spaces , so these new house owners were going to get to work how exactly ? , unless of course they were all going to get new jobs in Leigh itself ?

| Quote ="mr. chairman"TV BOY wrote:If you did have enough money to buy the stadium, say you won the euro millions on tuesday, the first things to be adressed would be the management of it. That would mean getting rid of the people who have been allegedly making it so hard for our club to get on there. These people were put in these positions I would say by Wigan council. When the clearout has been done and you have paid everyone off there would still be a very good chance that some may take you to an industrial tribunal. When this has been sorted you would have to still deal with Wigan council who I think would make you have it big time. You would have Health and Safety, Enviromental Health and all the other departments crawling all over the stadium every other week. Personally I would let Wigan Council control it but I would hold them to ransom like they have done to us. I would make it crystal clear that if they didn't have the welfare of the club at the top of their list of priorities then I would move Leigh Centurions to a bourough close by, build another stadium and provide free transport from Leigh town centre on sundays. F word to Wigan council, end of. The catering dept is the worst I have ever come accross.
Talking hyperthetically you would want WMBC to put the stadium company into administration - no redundancy or unfair dismissal claims then buy it from the administrator.
It still concerns me when people talk this way . I have seen many friends lives destroyed by people who do these things . So what do you really mean by the phrase , put into administration'"
It was a hyperthetical scenario MrC.
What is a fact is that after administration contracts are null and void, which means should we have current contracts in place that are unrealistic new owners would not be tied to them. Redundancy is fairly easy to sort out but somebody with 2 or 3 years left on a silly contract costs a lot more to resolve, as we found out on many occasions recently with coaches.
Didn't Widnes going into administration clear them of the stifling contract on their stadium?
What is clear is that we must do whats best for LRLFC, if we have ticked boxes at the end of the season then administration is a no-no and we should have no problem building for SL with a new deal with LSV.

With 2000 new homes (in a already gridlock risk area), how do the new house owners get to work by car? In say up to 5 years time how many people can afford a car? government local and national have got to force the issue on this lazy attitude of dependent on the car and changing the mindset
As for going into convenient administration to wipe off debts and/or liabilities, that is so wrong to do.

Tomorrow I drop my kids off in Lowton at 8am, then I have to get to some industrial park on the outskirts of Oxford for a meeting at 11am, then back to a site in the middle of nowhere, 7 miles away from Wolverhampton for a meeting at 2pm. I'll end up staying down there for another meeting in the morning, so will have to find a hotel somethere, get back to site, bring back a shedload of tools and equipment, then get back to Lowton to pick the kids up again.
Show me how I can meet those obligations without lazily relying on my car and I'll vote for your transport strategy

Quite a common daily commute that. I thought I had it bad.
But lets start with the easy bit trying to get them 2000 extra cars on the motorway in the first place before even starting that commute from hell.

By canoe, along t'cut, to the nearest public transport hub? Admittedly a fair paddle, if that 'hub' isn't Leigh bus station!
