| I've edited the title of the thread, in the cool light of day, it came out different to what I was trying to say.
Although I still feel we need to show more respect to the fans, it's a fact the corporate side of things at Leigh have always come first, as much as changing to Friday nights, which hasn't proven to be a success either.

| I honestly think this is a storm in a teacup.
I can't believe there were any Leigh fans there last night who don't know about LISA and the fundraising it does for the club we all support.
We would like more members so I suppose a HT presentation of the LISA cheque for £15k rather than a tannoy announcement would have been better but I am also sure the £5k contribution from the Touchdown club was only made just before Friday's game so my opinion is what does it matter.
Everyone who saw the HT cheque presentation is appreciative of the fund raising both LISA (particularly Lynda) and the Touchdown Club do for Leigh RLFC.

| For me our club needs BOTH the TDC and LISA , they are both doing a great job , though its not a Competition who can do the best , if the club had another 6 Lyndas , we would be in great shape her hard work is so valuable, as is the work done by Alan Platt and Co , i truly think with supporters like these 2 the Club will advance , long may they continue to support Leigh , and hopefully Work Together .

| Why don't you ask the club Lynda? Thought you was an elected member on board. Its bad enough having a poor result on the pitch without L.I.S.A representative having a swipe at the club not good publicity. I am a member and honestly could not give monkeys who gets photo in paper as long as the club get the money!
As far as TD club is concerned well done in involving members on your publicity as members are important and appreciation goes far. I am getting disillusioned about niggling conflicts between groups that have the same objective.

| At lot of people in the Northstand were not happy with the half time presentation simply because they felt Trevor B gave more recognition to the TDC. Can't blame them can you when you compare what LISA has done over the years espicially more so this month.
Last night was not a good for us on two fronts. The team were well beaten, not surprising with what is happening so soon into a new season, its bound to have an effect on PR and all the lads.
Switching the game to a friday night backfired on us completely. The club lost MONEY again and unless something is done soon before its too late the club will face the inevitable.
Dont want too sound all doom and gloom but face the facts LISA, TDC and fans keep pumping money in is not going to solve the problem.
The club will continue running at a loss and poor results on the field will compound that even more with poor attendances. We are in danger of heading down a spiral that if not managed properly will be speed up the problem.
We all cant say its going to be Jam tomorrow or when the weather gets better its not. The club needs to restructure itself and its debt as a matter of urgency as last night with a top of the table clash proves, we made another whooping loss on the gate.
The cost base and debt versus the income is miles apart and until something is done about that the club will contine to swing from crisis to crisis of that there is no doubt.
I know people will comment on this and pull it apart but as a fan base and a club we need a strategy, new ideas, inititive, clear management direction and greater control over the clubs debt and finances instead of us bumbling along in a world we cant afford to live in.

| I think most contributors to LISA will be appalled at the outburst of spite/jealousy, they contribute of necessity rather than for kudos.

| Although what ever money is raised by whoever doesn't bother me I can see both sides to this matter. I think your comment Reffy is out of order and the fact that there is a bit of tension between the two factions is a bad thing. The club should have thought about this a bit better. Public recognition for your hard word is worth bundles in boosting peoples morales. Linda may have been a bit silly but I don't blame her for feeling a bit hurt with all the graft she and the rest of LISA do for this club. If there are any rivalries or any bad feelings between the fund raising engines then the club should be falling over themselves to make sure it is sorted. "Petty jealousy" does not come into it at all.

| 1500 people get told about a contribution what's wrong with that? Is the TD club going to air there laundry in public because L.I.S.A get on the website with there contribution mid week that by the way more than 1500 people can access? I would not think they are bothered!
I appreciate the work Lynda and others have done but these seems to be personal unless there as been a member vote or something?
I am getting dis illusioned with the sport as it is and frankly this aint helping matters.
This is only my opinion and I am sorry if its taken the wrong way but is the OP wearing a Lisa hat, a board hat, a mod hat or a Lisa members hat. One will eventually out rule the other!

| Not forgetting that opinion is allowed and even welcomed on most forums. There was no need for this thread at all whatever the reasoning behind it.
You can now have the last word on the subject.

I wish I had a £1 every time you mentioned that statement on this forum!
Would it actually make any difference if this happened. The current shareholders would still have control which would stop anyone taking over unless they sold their shares. The capitalisation of the loans would give them more shares so if the fans bought some shares they would have no say. The current shareholders would still peobably own over 90% of the company. If someone wanted to take over they would still have exactly the same issue as they have now regarding take over price ( if it is an issue - my view is that no one is interested in owning the club)
However, if someone was serious about taking over I'm sure the current shareholders would sell their shares. Capitalisation of loans to share would make no difference as the amount the shareholders have invested and may want returned should a take over happen.
The shares could still be opened to fans without capitalisation.

| I've not been very well recently and I am a little impatient at the moment and easily upset so please understand I was not having at go at the Touchdowb club, again Ill say it it was the circumstances.
In future all contributions, I will ask the committee to agree with me and we will only do it by way of a on the pitch presentation. I believe Halifax do this .
As I don't like being in the paper etc or the publicity I will elect LISA members in the turn to do the honours.
Truthfully now I think Trevor just didn't think before he let this happen.
So Ill just make sure I't doesn't happen again.
If you notice I said many times and offered as many times to for us to work with the touch down cub, asked them to run joint dos etc but they prefer to do there thing and that's ok.
I can see no point in this anymore most passionate members l
Of LISA know what we do and have done for many many years as the lottery dept do too, everyone who helps the club just deserves equal reconigation that's all

The accounts look much better if these were capitalised, and it would mean new money in doesn't cover existing loans/pg's. If fans could buy shares or get bought them as presents etc the existing shareholding would get diluted unless the incumbants also bought more.
As the shares have no value why would someone pay for existing shares?

There are lots of ways to achieve this Mo. the only thing it needs is a desire to make it happen.
When Arthur left I offered my services (extremely valuable haha) but it wasn't taken up so I've not been able to see what the score is but I do believe that the Current BoD have the clubs interest at heart and are striving to make us a great club.
I have no desire to be involved in the management of the club as it is incredibly thankless so I will continue to do what I can from a distance.
Let's all do what we can!

The Halifax Supporters Trust do indeed hand our cheques over at half time on the pitch , it was part of the agreement with the Club Directors 2/3 yrs ago and very much welcomed by them . We do a good deal of raising funds and collecting around the ground so The Trust and the Clubs Directors think it`s only right the fans feel their efforts are recognised in full public view..That doesn`t mean anyone else`s efforts are not also highly thought of and they quite rightly do what they wish to do but the way we do it works very well for us.,

Agreed re accounts however do they really matter? I don't think the banks would lend to leigh rugby club based on accounts. It would be based on shareholders / owners pg's & other business interests. So the accounts is no excuse for new investors not to take over the club.
Totally agree with fans able to buy shares. As you mentioned fans could get them for birthdays & Christmas etc - a great idea. However they shouldn't get disallusioned that the fans would control the club if loans were capitalised.
Again agreed regarding the value of shares = £0.00
To summarise both our points (correct me if I'm wrong) -
1. we need new investment in the club, but It doesn't matter whether loans are capitalised or not really
2. It's a good idea for fans to be able to buy shares in the club, but the current directors would still be in charge due to their investment (shares & capitalised loans ) to date.

| IMO only , It's a storm in a tea cup .
But I have to agree with my owd buddy Linda , handing over the cheque in front of the die hards who follow this forum upstairs at a L.I.S.A meeting is alright but I think a H/T presentation to Trevor or a player on the LSV turf by a few members would give a bit of pride and prestige to them and possibly encourage the owd fogeys sat in the west stand who have no internet access and the non-attendees who see it in the paper to join and existing members to do more knowing that they'll get some official recognition for the hard graft they do .
My opinion only , Keep up the good work Linda we on here know how much work you put in , and just maybe the club may have learnt a lesson from this unintentional snub ,
