HOBSON FOR ENGLAND

Hobbo takes some stick but when we played Whitehaven couple months ago Hobbo was outstanding took on Whitehavens big pack and he came out well on top, personally Hobbo Jock Castle would make a great front
row Hill , Morrison second row and Taylor loose forward
both Hill n Morrision would be devasting runnin out wide if they got the right service from Watson or Hemmingway

We've tried Chris in the second row before and he just doesn't play well there at all. If you ask me he is an out and out prop.

also re JT at loose, Jt is a second row/hard ground prop, a loose forward these days has to have a variety of handling and passing skills something that JT lacks, and putting all your 'eggs' (i.e. props) in one basket (team) is hardly anything a good coach could/should do

Would have to be Smith or Armistead at loose for me

I wouldn't play him at all until he is fully fit.......or 'til he grows his hair back!!

I feel Hobson could be our missing half back, he reads a game perfectly, he always avoids making a tackle.

Iain you really should learn to read what I wrote, I made NO comment at all about ANY teams coaching staff, but to start a game with 4 props, I'd coach a team to beat it never mind anyone else.

In my opinion Hill and Morrision are both built like second rowers
they have pace and good movement ie side step ect ect both are,nt bad ball handlers and can tackle sound like s/ rowers to me

Agreed Hobbo is better than most props in this division and he gets singled out for unfair critisism in my opinion he is no more a drty player than an all time leigh favorite in Tim Street and if we can have two of our big three props on at the same time by subbing eg castle and hobbo then castle and hill ect we will dominate most packs earlier this season we couldnt domnate opposition packs due to only having one big prop

Its 2009 not 1989 second rowers are supposed to make you go forward Hill can play second row and Morrisons prefered position is second row but that pack you posted well put it this way its only your opinion (thank god).

Have to disagree a bit there Fred , IMO second rowers these days are just pumped up centres with size and speed that can tackle and are used just outside the ruck and just inside the centres breaking the line or running into gaps at pace and either scoring or giving a decent pass to other speed merchants , just like Steve Menzie does ( cant think which yorkie team he plays for )



But all these opinions are a load of bollox untill we get a game plan that does'nt consist of 5 drives and a p1ss poor kick and chase ( thats if we have'nt knocked on at the second tackle )

What were York and Owdham doing on Thursday night with this backing up and running through gaps and off-loading lark ? , don't they know that playing proper rugby in Champ 1 is not on :shock
