I blame you Matt, you used all your luck up on Saturday.

This was the 1st time in 45 years of watching Leigh I left with 15 minutes to go, that was embarrassing, having watched Leigh Miners v Leigh East under 16s in the morning the Leigh players need to watch them, commitment on defence flair in attack, the ability to pass a ball left and right and a fantastic game from both sides, so I went from watching rugby as it should be played to watching all out 1 man crap rugby, we as fans can see week in week out what's wrong so why can't the coaching staff!!!

I have to say walking to the ground with my dad, He said he thought we would get tonked today, I replied no chance, we are starting to hit our straps and getting better every week. I thought we were exceptional yesterday and our forwards laid the platform for the creative side of things, However, I also thought Leigh showed no desire and made us look much better than we were. Defensively Leigh had a nightmare and could not defend the little grubber kicks through, i think 18 points alone were leaked right there.


Anyway, thanks to the fans who showed up and i will see you at your place for no doubt a reverse encounter as ussual.

Leigh wont be the only team that put in their worst performance of the season against us over the next few weeks.

We put it together for 40 minutes against Dewsbury and then 40 minutes against Doncaster and then for 60 minutes yesterday. Theres still plenty of rrom for improvement as Rhino pointed out. Its going to be hard to play like that all season but no team in the division would have lived with us yesterday which is especially scary for other teams considering we still have a few players to come in as well.

You did play well yesterday , i admit it , but what happens when you have an off day and you get tonked ?It will happen this season , believe me it happens to every team , they dont play perfect rugby all season , its not possible , the season is not over yet by a long way , and the top team doesnt always win everything , just look at Fev

And that's one of the major faults in RL that has to change, The best and most consistent team all year around doesn't always win the main prize.
Its what's reducing interest in the week to week games as even Leigh's battering yesterday counts for nothing if we make the play offs (which given the standard of teams in this league this season and the fact 8 teams qualify is exceptionally likely

).

Agreed apart from getting tonked. I just cant see it with the group of players we have, the only thing getting Tonked will be the opposition packs.



Seriously though I dont think anyone at the club is getting too far ahead of themselves. Yesterday was the golfing equivalent of leading at the 5th hole and hitting a spanking good drive up the fairway.

At the end of the day what does it all matter, Leigh are going nowhere, and neither are Halifax ,and I would be extremely surprised if Featherstone went anywhere also ,I have got my tickets today for the wigan match and I will enjoy it and like Charlie stay until the end and clap them off .a loss to Halifax means nothing at all in the grand scheme of things

All you can do is look to improve with the tools that are at your disposal. At Fax we are doing that so I for one am very happy. I want to see us compete for trophies in this league, that is all we can do really.

Wether we are ever allowed in Super League again is not our descision but I do want our Club to be the best in this one ,both on and off the field .Even if we are in the second tier of 2 10 club Super League sides as has been suggested if things may go that way there is bound to be competition from the Clubs coming down.
So the sooner we start the better as far as I`m concerned.

Here here! P.S. thought your team and your species were great yesterday. I know it's easy to be noble when you are winning butI am talking before the match answer. To be honest on the way to the match I expected it to be really close and I thought it was "odds on " you might just pip us but did not expect a such convincing win. Just nothing seemed to go right for you even though you came close to scoring and what has hapened to Penky all the fire and passion has drained away. He used to be buzzing , animated and directing operations there was just no spark there and seemed to be just going through the motions . But if you have followed your team for some time you have undoubtadly seen times like this before as I have with my team and then they bounce back . That`s the thing about being a supporter of your team or me with mine because you can`t win every week or have good times every year ,the only way you can have that is by switching clubs . Being a supporter of a particular club means you take the good with the bad at Halifax believe me we have had the bad and hopefully this year we may have a bit of the good. I hope so anyway as I think the fans deserve it, good luck for the rest of the season (except when we come over to your place).

Interesting point here ( well I think any how)

On Sunday the differences to the teams from last seasons match was No John Duffy, no James Laithwaite, no Tommy Goulden and no Tommy Gallagher. In place of those were Penkywicz, Thornley, Taylor and Finnigan.

We are missing Duffy far more than we could ever imagine. Overall the four differences you would have thought individually would have cancelled each other out but collectively not. When you compare the two teams from Sunday we have stood still in terms of personnel but Fax have moved forward and improved hugely.

They were and are the better team but should not have been 50 points better.

Right, I can really move on now.

The 94-4 defeat to Workington was on of my best away trips EVER !!!! I look at it this way, The defeat to Fax doesn't do much for our points difference but the bonus point eliminates that anyway. Fax could have beated us by 13 and it would not make any difference.
It was a poor day in the office and if the lads feel down, we should see a good effort on Friday. Its a funny division we are in and we need to be in the right frame of mind for Batley.

Definitely. However, my fear is that Batley will be the fourth team to put us in our true place - oh, and we've not played York yet!
