LOL all you like (and there you go again with the implications of a lack of thoroughness that you really oughtn’t do as my leader).
I have seen this before but that simply says the purpose is simply… ."to raise money for LRLFC”.
Sorry but that doesn’t do much for me (which is perhaps why I haven’t signed up until D-day).
An example taken from the Warrington site which I might have fallen for a lot earlier….. (not saying we copy, but think about the aims, the interface with the club, the visibility of funding and decisions etc)
The aim of ###### is to support the development, coaching and promotion of young local players at all levels. This includes aiding local junior sides, as well as Service Area Teams, right through to fully professional Wolves’ players.
Each year, after discussions with the club and coaching staff, ###### will choose a number of young players to be sponsored. ######## members will have full sight and control of the form this sponsorship is to take.
We also help provide kit, equipment, training and bursaries for youth teams and players ranging from the u12s all the way up to u21s. We want to see a production line of top young talent – preferably mostly from Warrington – to help strengthen the first team.
The scheme is not a short-term fix by members, but a long-term investment in the youth of the club and the town.

| That was tried some years ago but the membership decided to go with giving it to players contracts, that's when I pulled out. If it was to go back to that then I for one would re introduce my subscription, until then I will give time and effort and raffle prizes but not cash.

| I cant believe we as Leythers dont all want the same thing ,A SUCCESSFUL LEIGH TEAM AND CLUB,the only way we will get this is Bonding together ,stop the personal sniping ,and backbiting ,and do whatever we can to help our CLUB AND TEAM.
To me Lynda ,Derek ,Tipster Ste ,Fred P , Frank B ,and the Majority of posters on here would all move heaven and earth for Leigh ,another guy i know going through personal hell at the moment still finds time to raise cash for the club ,tome Leythers are the TOPS ,alwayswill be ,lets come together ,put all this mudslinging behind us and make the Centurions and LISA successful .

It should never be set in stone for me Fred. The constitution should allow for a changeable mandate and provide a set of operating rules as to how that would be achieved.
At the moment, it's cash injection that's required. In future, LISA might want to refocus its cash into community and youth based projects. To change the focus would be a business decision that would need to be approved according to the operating rules.
If LISA gets its 1000 members that's 60k per year administered exactly how, by who? Needs absolute transparency.

| I agree Mr Waterfield, it does need to be flexible and based on the wishes of the members. I don't know how it currently operates but for example, I have never once seen a set of financial statements for LISA - its probably because I am overseas. I would expect the LISA committee would do anything to demonstrate their financial probity, which we of course don't doubt for a minute. As a Chartered Accountant I would be happy to advise on such matters.

| I think the constitution does allow for change its the members who don't like change.
Peter (the treasurer) does a great job in administrating LISA financies and his books are always on hand for anyone to inspect and he gives a thorough report at the AGM's, he is a chartered accountant and a well respected and known figure in the town and has a practice in Church St.

| Good to hear Fred, looks like all we need is to ensure members get the financials as a matter of course and not just the AGM. Of course that involves both time and money, unless you just put it on the website, which would be fine by me.

Do you know, what I feel like saying ,that's it, how pathetic, someone has to have a go, they just can't help themselves,
I didn't make up the mandate, I don't care what it says , I know we give money for players contracts .
If any one wants and know how to change it, incorporate big f@@@ off words that mean Jack e that's fine by me , go ahead, then you can bring it to the meeting and good luck getting it passed by all the members.
The bottom line I want a team to support next year, that's the priority, not how Lisa s constitution is worded, we can change that
For gods sake will people stop having a go I'm doing my bl00dy best despite working full time running a businesss and a family.
If anyone can do better nominate themselves on the 22nd by all means!!!!!!!!

| I don't think anyones having a go Lynda its just that new members are not up to date with the history and constitution of LISA I for one just like the idea of supporting the club in an area where I would know it would do the best especially if the rumours of the good news thats going to come re the future of youth development are true, it would be an exciting time for LISA and its members to be involved with that aspect of the club.
But that doesnt stop me assisting where and when necessary and I for one would never blame the committee for a decision passed by its members

| Lynda - I am sure you are not suggesting I get on a plane and fly 3,000 miles specifically to get a copy of the financial statements!
Lynda - you have done and are doing a fantastic job, as a number of people on here have commented. You've taken on far more than one person can be expected to do. You should be given the freedom of the borough in my opinion! You are irreplaceable and should not/cannot be replaced.
Its hard to separate out those who are just wind-up merchants on this board and some who have a constructive contribution to make. But let's not throw the baby out with the bath water, please. It may be that working on the infrastructure of the LISA organization could be of benefit. That may not be your forte and thats fine - for others its right up their alley. I think one of the tasks going forward will be to try and expand the active contributors to LISA, whether they sit on a committee or note to deal with some of these bureaucratic matters as some might see it.....and the AGM itself is probably not the time to raise some of these issues, prep work would need to be done..

| There is a very good reason why this membership push is vital.
Our gates are not good enough to pay for our tenancy of the LSV and to have a decent team on the park a fantastic coach and a reserve side.
Warrington's equivalent of LISA cannot be compared because the club its' members support has average gates of over 10000 per game and are in receipt of quite a wod of cash from Sky.
When Leigh are in the same situation as Warrington then we could conceivably alter what our fundraising is for.
Until then if you want to watch a pro RL club in the town you need to join LISA if you can afford it.

The only thing I've 'had a go at' is the 'having a go at others'.
With respect to the set-up I'm definitely not 'having a go'. Not my intention at all.
I apologise if I upset you as you have poured so much into LISA over the years you deserve the freedom of the town.
What I am trying to say is that what is there does not have to be seen as cast in stone and, in my view, would benefit from a bit of a revamp and since you're doing what is effectively a relaunch perhaps now's the time to make sure you have strong message.
It would make it a far easier sell, especially to the more cynical amongst us who will be more inclined to question (and spread scurrilous rumours about) what is being done with the money.

| Thing is ML I know how hard it is for Lynda to get assistance in anything she does behind the scenes for LISA and most things get shoved on her plate because she has no one to delegate these things to and she works tirelessly long hours doing it all so naturally she is sensitive re all things LISA and long may she remain so as for the last few years she has been LISA mostly on her own.
I once went to a LISA meeting and asked one member 'so if Leigh were really struggling and wanted £5K to pay a bill or else the person owed to would issue a winding up order, you would let that happen even if LISA could pay that bill?' the reply 'YES THE LISA MONEY IS FOR PLAYERS ONLY' unbelievable but true.

| Re junior team scholarships academies there goods news re funding on the way, so they will have funding, so let's give the club money for first team players. Some people will get a big shock when they see our budget next season!
So more money. LISA makes, the quality of team we have improves.
