Sounds a great local prospect, but it could cause us problems having a plyer in a key pivotal position, on D/C. You know the script - he plays well, Cas get injuries at half back, and we lose a key play-maker!

Forget duel contract and get him on a 12 month loan deal, they cant recall him that way.

Spot on, no idea how good he may or may not be, but a D/C in that position can completely disrupt the team - it's a no for me.

Going off the Cas board though Col, there are a few players in front of him in the pecking order, do agree though if he's called back at anytime.

That will be fine, if it works out like that. Remember, Matty Blythe was one of our squad of 25 last year - how many games did he play for us? Also, Lee Mitchell and Tyrone McCarthy were D/C'd to us - how many games did we get out of them?

Surely to an extent it's a case of beggars can't be choosers? Who else is available?

We had Joe Mellor last year and don't think he got called back once. Way to look at is, just as likely Cas get injuries and he gets called back as it is the lad could get injured himself and miss games anyway.

Exactly J20 we cannot turn down a quality player jsut because he is likely to be called back else we would only be getting players who wern't good enough

We Have Duffy & Nicholson to cover scrum half when needed & possibly Beswick too if we sign him up

We have ticked the box and are rebuilding, if he plays most games then we have cover if he is dragged back. Great move for player and both clubs. Welcome back Ryan.

If we have ticked a box and are re-building why don't we give our own players experience instead of using other teams players. No relegation next year, a season for someone like O'Brien with little pressure could be invaluble

I don't disagree with you COL but we cannot turn down quality players just because they could be recalled

O'Brien could break through if good enough, running him too soon could kill his development and we only have a few options in the area.

We need to win games to keep cash coming in, we need to announce some new 'names' to generate season ticket sales and interest.

This kid was on our books, lives locally, has been in FT training and comes with a great rep. The right halves make life easier for the rest.
