| The Toronto Wolfpack Twitter account has posted a picture of an article stating Pownall, Kay and Beswick have all signed for them for next season, and Ridy is likely to follow them.
Also says they've signed Sarsfield, QLT, and Fleming from Bradford

| Along with Craig Hall that's the cap gone already.Kay's head been elsewhere all season.Time for a winger, but get the feeling it will be another with Armstrong to switch to wing.

| I suppose if Armstrong moves out to the wing there's less chance of him passing it out into touch

| The players mentioned in the article (Riddy, Beswick, Pownall, Kay, Sarsfield, QLT, Hall and Fleming) would all be very good signings for a Champ 1 club. Their problem is, I think most clubs in that league would feel confident against a team of 8 players! Where are the rest of the squad coming from?
Also - can be pretty confident that some players will feel the novelty of travel wear off after the second batch of games in Toronto.

| I don't think Liam Kay has been that bad. He has had a knee problem that could be on his mind and probably cost him some pace, but I think he is playing well.

| It doesn't matter to me if they play 17 British players, I've heard some crazy comments about why there are no Canadian players, I asked when London were in SL how many Foreign players did they have?Let Rowley sign whoever he wants.

| I assumed you were on about the actual Toronto Centurions
I don't understand the need for Canadian players. I mean, obviously it's better for them in the long run, but it's an entirely artificial constraint. It doesn't put them on a level playing field with anybody. We have limits on overseas players to assist with the development of the national team in an era where we rapidly approach a time where there is nobody left alive who has seen us win a series against Australia. Why should they be limited to Canadian players?

It doesn't bother me what nationality they are either Charlie. It bugs me if - and I say if - Rowley has been tapping our players up after the cack he spouted about morals and integrity after walking out on us

I didn't make any comment about the nationality of the players they've signed

If all of their squad are british, they could be looking at a similar player turnover as we've had this season, when they realise there's sod all to do in Toronto.

Especially as they would have been done illegally but very hard to prove, cant blame the single lads who are not good enough to make the next step or those on the last few seasons of a career. It will be a great story for the Grandkids some day

No, don't blame the players at all. That would fall at the feet of Mr Morality

Iggy ,I still don't know the answer to Pauls statement about morals and integrity,or his real reason for leaving Leigh , maybe he was approached by Canada and liked what he saw , I don't know, I do know the players he is supposed to be signing could be classed as Rugby Mercenaries , and I don't think we are going to lose any sleep over the guys he is supposed to have signed, I bear no malice to Paul, I hope it works out, somehow I have my doubts though, it reminds me of the Cardiff Blue Dragons ,and Mansfield Marksmen days and we all know how they went on.
Again it's not the Coach or the players as the reason why we support a team, it's the Club itself, most on this Forum are Leythers 100% and always will be, Leigh Centurions will still be here when Toronto RLFC have passed on, I'm sure of that.

I've never been to Toronto or Canada for that, so I can't comment on what there is to do , or attractions ,I'm sure it's the lure of cash and the novelty of playing over there,I think the travelling may get a few players down, however we will see.

I've travelled there for work quite a lot over the last few years, and while it's a nice city, the novelty definitely wears thin after a couple of trips.

Surely it has more to offer than Leigh ?
Don't get me wrong, I am NOT dissing Leigh but it appears to be a vibrant, clean & economically more attractive proposition from the outside looking in.
I think if I were in my 20's or the last throws of my RL career then I would give Toronto a shot too, so I don't blame any of the lads at all.
Anyone know if Beswick is now [iFit or Unfit[/i to play RL ? Or are we just carrying him for some reason?

Been here since 2002 and, despite the lack of charity shops and Silcocks Fair not coming every other year, I ain't bored yet.

| Maybe Paul meant that he couldn't stay at the club then leave- causing major upheaval - at the business end of the season. He could have carried on taking wages and jumped last minute but it would be against his morals and honesty. I'd like to think of it like that anyway.

I said it's a nice city, in fact it it's a lovely city. When I've been there, (have numerous times, including stopping for a month once), I felt it was the sort of city that would be better to live in than visit as a tourist. My point was, these players wont really be moving to Toronto though, they'll still spend more time in Britain than Toronto, spending every second month during the league season over there. First few trips will be great for them, but as the season goes on, the idea of keep leaving home for four weeks will start to become a drag for some of the staff.
To make matters worse, the time in Britain will be in Yorkshire!
Good of you to get a dig in about leigh though...

Quite possibly said something he shouldn't too. Paul's probably then gone off in a huff, imagining himself to be the victim after his (deserved) telling off, at the fact the club hasn't given him full blessing to walk out when we need him most.
In the end I think Jukes is doing a better job anyway. Seems to have a much better understanding of squad rotation & giving players time to fully recover from injury for when you need them most.

So perhaps the real issue is not Toronto at all, it's the fact that players won't be living at home. No intent to have a pop at my home town, I'm proud to be a leyther and always will be. But I am aware of its limitations!

| Disappointing Ridy and Liam would prefer to step down a level than have a crack at SL.
Less than impressed with PR and his implications about behaviour of peopke at the club.
Happy for anyone to pursue their career but do it right.
