DC's and a couple of signings and that could be quite a tidy squad.

I agree with that and I expect our lads will give a performance that will raise eyebrows for the unbbeliever.

i think taylor had an operation on his wrist and Littler has a knee injury or something to do with his leg?

Think this thread shows we definately need one or two more signings as well as 3 DC's. Starting 13 looks very good. Depending on how Brierly and McNally settle in, possibly as good or better than last year. But the bench isn't up to the same standard IMO. At the start of last year our bench was normally something like Mills, Thornley, Nash and either Govin/Robbie Paul. All good/very good players for us. Now we've lost all 5 of those players and need to try and get our bench for this season up to a similar standard.

We aren't far off, I think we just need to find maybe another centre and/or utility back and maybe one more prop as i'm unsure on Ostick and not sure where Gallagher's best position will be yet. Then strengthen with DC's we can rely on regularly and I can see us pushing for top 3 or 4 and maybe another day out in Blackpool. Playoffs are anyones guess as always.

Can't wait for saturday now, get a look at the new faces and just get back to supporting the Mighty Leythers!!

Hopefully the DC's come pretty soon because our pack isnt as big as last year! Lets just hope bibey stays away from injury.

ryan brierley hasnt signed for us according to the reporter

This is what the reporter says. “As yet we have not secured Ryan Brierly on loan from Castleford so he won’t be playing"
Now i take that as we havnt signed the registration papers until Trever barton arrives back from Holiday as mentioned on here on a previous thread so i think once the paper work as been sorted he will be coming.

Brierley mentioned on Twitter last night that he is now eligible to play on Saturday - not sure whether there would be any registration issues anyway for a friendly but not 100% on that.

we shouldn't be announcing signings until they have been made, he also played for cas on boxing day

He has signed since that report went out, he tweeted that it all got sorted at training last night and he us defo playing on sat

I think the reporter goes to print on tuesday,i think the new info came out yesterday, so the paper would not have had time to change its story.

Similarly, despite it saying in the local paper that Littler is not playing, he seems to be talking about having a game to play on Saturday at Salford. As the previous poster states, with the Reporter article being put together earlier in the week, it cannot possibly be bang up to date, so players such as Brierley, Littler etc may play. Who knows. Brierley states he is playing for sure. Hopefully we will have a strong starting line up and we can begin to gel and gain some cohesion in a match situation.

Will we have some kids playing as well? If we only have 21 players and some injuries we won't have many to chooose from

his son plays for their u20s has told me we have been offered Ryan King a Centre -Winger , and Tom Spencer a young Prop , he says they are outstanding prospects ,plus maybe a New signing

I dont think we have actually signed anybody yet , im told Wigan have offered us a couple of their younger players , but we are waiting till the Friendly game to what they can do .

Ive not heard about Hughes , but King and Spencer have been mentioned .

Jack Hughes is supposed to be a cracking young player.

Sorry I read it wrong, I meant King (if we've got him). I'd have a combination of McNally and Ridyard in the halves if Brierly isn't going to be here a full season to get some consistancy

Hughes did a good stint up at Barrow last year in trying circumstances and even made his SL debut in 2011 too.
