Bring Varks back to Lobbyland

Hulme and Heckenberg.

Heckenberg has looked unfit and fairly uninterested whenever i've seen him. Got smashed playing against Leigh reserves last year. Hopkins will be far better and isn't an Aussie.

Get Hulmey and Varks, two massive players and have done us proud this year.

Look at what Millward has done for Mills & Bibey.



At a push Varks, problem since school was not having a natural position.

Varks fits our profile, local and inexpensive. Would do well under Basil.
I feel Hulme is a stop gap whilst he finishes his apprenticeship, may be worth a punt on a 1 year with options as Basil would again bring the best from him.
Hopkins will move up to the 17 (as will Nicholson) to fill the huge gap left by Hill, so Heckenburg is a big no-no.
Not sure on Grady as I feel there is something there.
Think we will see a young Wire halfback for a season next year.

I'm gutted, whoever gets Hulme has a real talented prospect on their hands.

Hulme and Varkulis for me too. I also think that if Sculthorpe could get back to the level he had in SDL then his compulsive offload coupled with our pace around the ruck could be a very dangerous combination. I also think that Ropati could do a job for us depending on the dual reg's next year.

Ropati's defence has been shocking this year, especially early on in the season. Millward could probably sort that out (look at the improvement in Nanyn's defence since last year!) but if he didn't stand out in an average widnes team I don't think he would do much at Leigh either. Hulme and Varks are still the only two i'd take.

Keep well away from imports at this level.

This level needs no imports we have proved that this season,there is enough talent in the area to be developed to be successful.

I could not think of one single widnes player good enough to get into our team this year

Only problem with that is, our team this year, will by no means be our team next year.

Wouldn't touch any of them apart from Varks and Hulme.

I'd look at Gregg Scott - young, tall, quick
Chris Lunt - young, dynamic around the ruck
Dave Houghton - I rated this lad at prop but hasn't got anywhere near a first team jumper for 18 months. Worth a punt though
Danny Hulme - as a 6 or 9. Too shaky at FB currently for me.

Wouldn't take anyone else but can see Vark possibly fitting the mould as listed on here. Hope he plays with more fire than was seen vs Fev though.

when you look at that list and the ages of the players you need to ask the question....if they've all been released whats the point of devoloping youth systems outside of SL.

To get a tick in the box for a Superleague licence. You can't knock Steve O'Connor. He had a meeting with Little Dick and The Fat Controller after they got shafted last time and asked "What do you want me to do to get a Licence?" They said "Look make the licencing system look legitimate and achievable and we will keep you and your millions quiet for three years".

its just more make believe and falsehoods again.
Widnes letting all these young players go has really dissapointed me.
