watching tonights game, wakey v wire, and Kevin Henderson. Can't remember, but why did he 'bugger off' mid season 'Super League', well that's how i remember it, can't recall what actually happened ?
also, can anyone name the game in which he made his only Leigh appearance, i actually know this, he came on as a sub, and it was quite a good game, unusual for that season !!!

He was deemed by the then coach, surplus to requirements. I think the statement was he cant even run straight lines and will never play in SL. 5 year later he's still in SL and the said coach is ......................................

Even turks couldn't have kept us up with that squad but i'm convinced the season would not have been as embarressing as it ended up with abram in charge.

Well Abram got us up, a feat nobody else managed. Admittedly Turk was up against it because of the old parachute payment system but he also lost a final against Dewsbury after taking over mid season from Basil.

He had an operation on his shoulder I think thats why he didn't play again that season.

I would ve got us up , don`t start praising Mr Happy.

It seemed after the 2003 season the bod couldn't make the right decision no matter how hard they tried.they worked so hard for years just to throw it all away.
That how it seemed to me anyway.

he had a very young squad when he lost in the first final against a very experianced team and coach i think?.
After that he never stood a chance against fully pro clubs.
Still it was a very enjoyable time watching his teams play especially the season we romped the league but lost in the playoffs to oldham and widnes.

To be fair 90% of overseas signings at SL clubs probably do the same as in the times we are in they expect a full sponsored training kit to be ready. I guess Kevin has come to terms with the UK SL now or should I be saying European SL !!

Those were the days a young Stu Donlon, Mickey Higham, Timmy et al....... The 2000 GF was a game we should ve won against a very strong Dewsbury side,whom we had some tough encounters that year.I seem to recall a miss hit drop kick from Barry Heaton taking an eternity to crawl over the bar. A top turnout from the Leythers as well.

It was Richard Agar who kicked the drop goal mate. Came straight after we wasted an almost certain try at the other end when Simon Baldwin kicked through instead of passing the ball out wide when having a massive overlap.

Big problem was getting KH to do anything on the training pitch!

Coaching team - "Right, now we'll do some sprinting". KH "Can't, I've got a bad knee."

Coaching team - "Now for some tackling practice." KH " Can't, I've got a bad shoulder."

General manager - " Here's your pay packets." KH - " No problem mate, my hands are ok!"

Etc. Etc. Etc.

Which players would you have back from the 2005 squad though? I wouldn't have Henderson, bad attitude. Oli Wilkes, John Wilshere, Craig Stapleton....that's it I think, we've re-signed all the other good ones.

Paul Terzis lost us that match in the dressing room at H/T. Who can forget Tim Street and Dave Whittle sat quietly, filling in clip boards during Leigh's biggest match for 2 decades? Utterly ridiculous !!

And Dewsbury's coach at the time was Neil Kelly.

You will find that was one year later in 2001! For what its worth some of PT's coaching techniques were by far ahead of the times.

Sid told me Turk was 3 years ahead of SL coaches at the time. Cant Blame PT for out!And u never saw in the changing rooms at hT of the GF
